A teeny snippet of Abbie& Jayke’s preview as I chip away at the rest. What do I even say. Practically - a lush day, split into an intimate ceremony with a handful of guests, followed by a reception where they surprised their guests with the fact they were already married. Cows, horsies, their two beautiful dogs, a violin. Cute. Emotionally, well heck. It all happened at @cowbell_creek with @thewildhitcher (friend, celebrant, MC) with whom I cried a lot. Like snotty kind of crying. My gosh these two love each other so very much. So uniquely. So fiercely. A space where they could find themselves, grow into themselves, protect each other, support each other, show up in countless tiny ways and countless big ways, and look after dogs for a living. I WANT ALL THAT. I love watching them and how soft they are when they think no one is watching. But I’m a little creep so jokes on them. Here’s a few photos from being a creep, now I’m going to cull and cry a snotty cry as I do. Abbie uses she/her pronouns and Jayke uses he/they pronouns I’m sure I’ll have more to say when I share more. Chrissie and Kel, married in secret in front of their two besties Pickle and Shux, the best @thewildhitcher , me and some plovers at @cowbell_creek in September. These two love fiercely. Each other, those they hold dear, cows and I will forever be in awe of how they love. They bonded over the conversation game We Are Not Really Strangers which has snuck into their lives in so many ways since their first date, including their proposal, their vows and surprise questions from Michelle - to their yearly Beers and Bookshop event. They put so much thought into every single thing they do. How they show up in the world, how they show up for their friends, how they show up for each other, how they show up for cats. Travelling the world to surprise their best friend on his 40th birthday, designing things for every occasion, keeping all their community connected by throwing events, creating AND PRINTING A WHOLE ASS BOARD GAME AS A THANK YOU TO PICKLE & SHUX AT THEIR OWN WEDDING. AND THAT’S JUST TO THEIR FRIENDS. Imagine all the thoughtful little things they do for each other daily. Small, big, thoughtful, which you can tell in some things they said years ago when they first enquired: “When she cares about something or someone she’s all in, and that shows in every part of her life” “she is the kindest, most earnest human I’ve ever met, who wears her heart on her sleeve and expresses love through all the languages just to make sure she’s covered every possible option.” “She’s also a hopeless romantic who continues to surprise me every day.” Anyhooo they eloped and we all cried, me at some swooping plovers and then at their vows and beautiful love and the ever talented storytelling by Michelle, then we laughed, cried more, they fed animals and had dinner at @superflypizza in Wooloongabba where they had their first date years ago. Every bit with the same thought they put into everything else. Months later, they surprised all their friends and family by announcing they’d been married for a while, announcing a new last name, then swapping some books. Those photos later, here’s 230598 quickly for now. Just the best. Inspiring.

You regret 100% of the shots you don’t take. - some sports person, someone who keeps popping up on dating apps quoting someone else and Elisha & Patty as they take a tequila shot out the back of the troopy after they were wed and when they took a shot on each other at a work Christmas party years ago. Of course the troopy and a shot had to be included in this day that was created to be very personal and about them. They throw themselves into everything they do, learn, adapt and open up their big warm hearts and it was reflected in their wedding day very much. Down to the same fairy lights Pat wrapped Elisha in at said party and all the heartfelt letters to everyone. AH. I met Elisha in one of her million past lives when we both worked at Boost Juice and again when she taught me to surf when I heard about Patty, they took me in the troopy to Minjerribah and I learnt more about them and continued to on the peripheries which is inspiring, imagine in the depths. Wowzas. I feel very lucky to have been there on this day and can’t wait to look through more than just the preview and show and yap about it 😍. Where I belong (in the water). A few months ago I completed a 12 Week Challenge which I signed up to as I’m my coach @maddyb.lifts biggest fan and I really wanted to stop vaping and give myself a chance to feel good in and about my body and health again. Still learning all that and that I’m more than a body, but I will be learning that forever - I showed myself what my body and I can do, did unassisted chin ups which is a goal each time I watch the circus (like once every 3 years), stood in a pool and haven’t vaped in almost 200 days (which as an impulsive gal with big feelings and love of procrastination and partying is huge news.). Here’s a peek of my final photos Maddy organised for us because she’s amazing and wants us all to feel amazing and always does so much to show us that. I. Love. The. Water. And. Maddy. And. Being. A. Big. Strong. Girl. 📷 @vybe_collective

Jesse and his [beautiful girl], Hannah. Married a few weeks ago at The Little Laneway by the wonderful Jordan Kadell. Here’s just a squiz of their preview but I’m so excited to get to look at them all so soon, every time I have, I’m just obsessed. When they first met, Hannah was making playing cards that featured in a video game but never finished - on their wedding day, Jesse gifted her that very game which has since been released and it was wholesome and cute and she’d left Post-Its around the house reminding him to bring the rings. Just cute little things that’s actually being in love, then you get to put on fancy as heck clothes and celebrate with your wonderful people. Their MC incorporated their love for board games et al and described the reception as though it were a game and how to play, scoring points for XYZ. IT WAS VERY CLEVER. Anyway, 345398475 points to Hannah and Jesse on their love, their warmth, and just being sweet as hell.

Matilda & Ezra on Saturday. They wanted to celebrate their way with their favourite people at some of their favourite places which also happen to be mine. While none of the dates (lol) I went on at @flyingcolours_bar amounted to anything, it never fails to be a wonderful space and place with my community and Matilda and Ezra had THE BEST DATE with each other and their community by getting married by their best friend there on Saturday. Such a unique wedding spot, followed by so much gosh dang delish food at @augustwestend . I asked them to describe each other in a word and Matilda described Ezra as “warm” which I think describes them both, their community and wedding day perfectly. Here’s a snippet of their preview of couple photos, can’t wait to share more of their day and little thoughtful details. It was International Dog Day the other day and I did not have the chance to celebrate some of the sweet baby angels I’ve been lucky enough to meet over the last year or so. Here they are being perfect and amazing. I have too many photos for one post, so more dog content is a given. Thanks dogs for existing and thanks for including your dogs in your shoots. More please and thanks.

In full bloom / bloomin’ heck. @savi.misu has such a beautiful eye and appreciation for the natural world and all the colours, lights, shapes and sounds that creates it - she’s going to pass that on to her sweet little bebe who is going to be one curious child. Here she is blossoming (and Andy) just before their sweet little girl joined us.

Jossie and Kris last year. Whatever these two go through, which when you hear their story can feel just so wild, heavy, inspiring, unjust, resilient as all hell, their love for each other, connection and support just continues to shine no matter how dark other stuff feels. Honestly, it’s inspiring, mind blowing and to be so admired and the kind of connection you can only dream to have with a partner. So what a dream to be involved in their wedding day. They chose to champion local small businesses and focus on the things that really matter. Every single detail was so damn good, down to the bejazzled medication and vows printed in an Aladdin book. And there wasn’t a dry eye in the ceremony, the speeches or when everyone gushed about how much they love each other. A treat to be with @erinwoodhallcelebrant always, married at the funeral The Tailors in Wooloongabba- have a squiz at 1% of the joy. I made more slides but turns out there’s a limit. THERE’S JUST TOO MUCH.
