Congratulations to @clintlagerberg for winning the special edition ESSENCE RS - Remote Streaming Studio Condenser giveaway!
Upon trying it for the first time Clint said:
"Holy smokes!!! Just tracked acoustic guit on the electronic setting… Sounded as good as any mic I’ve used at Paisley’s or Blackbird in Nashville!"
Safe to say it’s already getting put to good use!
There was unfortunately a bit of a shipping delay and we wanted him to have it before announcing the winner. Thanks for your patience with the late reveal!
And thanks again to everyone who entered! Make sure you're following @aimaudioberlin so you don't miss any future promotions.

Different mic polar patterns and use case scenarios👇
Figure 8 – “2 for 1”
Figure 8 picks up sound from the front and back with strong side axis rejection. This makes Figure 8 perfect for recording two vocalists at the same time, as well as for stereo configurations where isolation between microphones is required.
Super Cardioid – Precision & Isolation
Super Cardioid offers a tighter focus than cardioid, with excellent side rejection and a controlled rear pickup. This is ideal for point source micing in ensemble recordings, avoiding feedback in live settings and situations where minimising bleed is critical.
Cardioid – The “Go To”
Your best bet for most situations, cardioid is the standard pickup pattern for a reason. It has a dry and direct sound with high off axis rejection, making it equally capable for a wide range of sources from vocals to acoustic guitars, pianos and beyond.
Wide Cardioid – A Balanced Approach
A mix between cardioid and omni, wide cardioid offers a more open response while still retaining some directionality. The result is a fuller and more spacious capture, and the reduced proximity effect also lends well for close micing of sources.
Omni – Natural & Open
Omni picks up sound equally from all directions, yielding a very natural tonality with minimal proximity effect. This makes it an ideal pattern for ensemble recordings and capturing the character of the room itself.

How can ESSENCE enhance your recording workflow?
Here at Aim Audio, we build tools that bring premium sonics and practical versatility to everyday recording sessions without the premium price tag.
ESSENCE (seen here), the streamlined sibling to our flagship microphone INSPIRE, distils that philosophy into its purest form.
Its single-pattern cardioid design may appear minimal, but every feature was engineered to elevate your recording workflow.
Whether it's the patented switchable Transformer/Electronically balanced output offering instant tonal variety on the spot, an onboard Peak Level Indicator to warn you if levels are getting a bit hot, the direct-to-stand mounting or the optional ORBIT shock mount's 190° of rotation, ESSENCE gives you versatility without sacrificing simplicity.

The setup vs. the final result.
We were so thrilled at the response to our last video that we had to share a little bit of the process making it. Turns out the cheapest electric turntable on Amazon isn't the most reliable. 😅
Luckily our INSPIRE microphone still performed excellently despite the circumstances.

Bite + Body: pairing a condenser with a dynamic mic to record an amp cabinet. Have you tried this method?
In this session with @grimsongram at @thefamousgoldwatch in Berlin, engineer @bobspencerguitarist combines the classic bite of an SM57 dynamic with the body and extended frequency response of the Aim Audio INSPIRE condenser microphone.
Additionally, the switchable output Transformer on INSPIRE smoothed out some pokey transients and added a pinch of harmonic saturation to the low and high end, perfectly complementing the 57's mid-range focus.
Resulting in an appropriately thick and full-range tone for the intentionally minimal production.

The sound of German engineering at a fraction of the cost.
We wanted to bring the top shelf sonics of much more expensive microphones down to an accessible price point without compromising on quality or craftsmanship. Not such an easy task, but one we were committed to making a reality.
The capsule was chosen after months of double-blind listening tests with industry experts, every component carefully selected—or custom designed, like our Toroidal Transformer—and each feature is specifically meant to improve your day-to-day recording workflow.
And because everything is assembled, tested and calibrated by hand in our Berlin workshop, you can trust that uncompromising quality is built into every microphone.

Sunday vibes ~
Unwind from the week with the smooth sounds of NY session saxophonist @thesaxophonewarrior playing through an Aim Audio INSPIRE.
INSPIRE's switchable output Transformer adds some richness to the lows, while smoothing out the aggressive highs without sounding flat. With cardioid mode for a clean and direct capture, an 80Hz low cut to remove any unnecessary low end and a -10dB pad for good measure, INSPIRE provides a faithful capture that's as vibey as the licks you're playing into it.

No but seriously...
Why are most shock mounts so big, bulky and inflexible?
We here at Aim Audio wanted to do better for our INSPIRE and ESSENCE microphones so we designed ORBIT, our custom 190° rotating shock mount, to be as simple and effective as possible.
Complete with our magnetic Resorber ring and reversible SENTRY pop filter: its low-profile design was built for ultimate flexibility and superior resonance suppression.
