AIM Studio transformed a former comic book store into NOÏ - a calm hybrid space where Japanese-inspired tea rituals meet mindful pilates movement. Clean lines, softened corners, and a restrained material palette of raw marble, lime plaster, and resin create a serene, minimalist atmosphere. Fluid partitions and visual connections allow the two programs to coexist without separation, while a deep red corridor adds a subtle dramatic transition. Un grande pilastro in granito, lasciato a vista, e un passaggio ad arco che distingue le due aree operative richiamano l’origine strutturale dello spazio. Qui, il setto in legno, esposto nella sua interezza, definisce senza dividere, permettendo alla luce e allo sguardo di fluire liberamente. - The pilates room shares the same material palette as the tea house, reinforcing the project’s cohesive identity. A large exposed granite column and an arched opening between the two activity zones recall the space’s original structure. Here, the wooden partition is revealed in full, defining without dividing, allowing light and sightlines to flow freely. Un elemento che riassume l’intero approccio progettuale in un unico gesto. - At the entrance, the visual and symbolic focal point is the bar counter—an embodiment of the project’s design language. It features a resin- and lime-finished plasterboard base, a central solid marble block with raw edges, and a crafted wooden section housing integrated display cases. Noii - @noii.milano Nel cuore pulsante di Milano, all’interno del quartiere di Moscova, uno spazio dal passato iconico si rigenera in una nuova destinazione ibrida: una tea house dall’anima giapponese che convive armoniosamente con una sala dedicata al pilates reformer. L’intervento nasce dalla trasformazione di una storica fumetteria, un luogo interamente rivestito da scaffalature che oggi lascia emergere sotto la propria pelle architettonica tracce materiche e volumetriche di grande fascino. Queste preesistenze, una volta rivelate, hanno orientato il linguaggio e la struttura del progetto. - In the vibrant heart of Milan, within the lively Moscova district, a space with an iconic past is reborn as a new hybrid destination: a Japanese-inspired tea house that coexists harmoniously with a pilates reformer studio. MAYA I wall lamp. Designed In collaboration with @aim.studio , Maya is a wall sconce that explores the tension between appearance and reality, drawing inspiration from the philosophical concept of the “veil of Maya” by Arthur Schopenhauer. In his vision, the veil obscures the true nature of things—a metaphor that comes to life in this sculptural light piece. Crafted from solid brass, aluminum, and textured glass, Maya offers a layered interplay of materiality and illumination. Two distinct light sources—a warm LED and the gentle flicker of candlelight—merge behind a translucent veil of glass. The result is a subtle, ever-shifting ambiance that invites contemplation and quiet attention. The glass, like Schopenhauer’s veil, conceals as much as it reveals. What lies behind it—technology and flame—blends into a singular presence, both contemporary and elemental.
