who says you need a fancy set up? this shoot was last minute and spur of the moment and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Thinking of making some content explaining my lighting choices/process. Is that something you would be interested in?
shot with the incredible @maddy.salhany and @etienne__delorme

getting more and more interested in the details of the dance. grips and shelves that allow weight to be transferred and shared. where does that impetus come from?
clean, crisp and visually powerful.. all words that come to mind when referring to @annaamckinney and what every dancer deserves in their portfolio of images ❣️

it’s incredible how much negotiation needs to happen when shooting film. Negotiating with time. Negotiating with light. Negotiating with the camera. I really tried to test myself to see if I could use my Mamiya to the fullest of its capabilities all the while negotiating the speedbumps along the way. This was my first successful strobe shoot using the Mamiya RZ 67 Pro ll. Thank you @annaamckinney for your art. Thank you @tunggiya.official for your beautiful designs. Thank you @emiliacollettiva for your support. Thank you @kodak for your film.
shared space with @siljevereide & @zackpreece ✨🖤
so in awe of how palpable the connection was between these two dancers. without words, they were communicating right in front of me, and the language they used spoke directly to the camera.
📍Catch these dancers in Toronto this Friday & Saturday at Meridian Hall with @balletsjazzmontreal !!!
