“You wouldn’t steal a body” Companion poster to “Sell Your Body Online!” Pt.3 This poster uses the font from the iconic ‘piracy is a crime’ anti-piracy advertisement that featured on many dvd’s during the early 2000’s. The ribcage chain harness was made by me using around 3 meters of stainless steel chain of two different sizes in 2023. 768 x 1024px #digitalart #bodyhorror #piracyisacrime #procreate #photoediting #graphicdesign #posterart #ual

“Mr Meatcuts” Companion poster to “Sell Your Body Online!” Pt.2 This illustration was made to mimic a classic butchers poster, using a single pixel brush on ‘Procreate’ to create the jagged sharp lines. Again my own body was used as the main reference, along with medical anatomy posters to attribute more accurate meatcuts to the human form. 768 x 1024px #meat #bodyhorror #digitalart #illustration #procreate #ual

“You’re in Control” Companion poster to “Sell Your Body Online!” Pt.1 This is the first of a set of satirical advertisement posters, constructed like a digital collage using the programme ‘Procreate’ and a series of my own images in the style of an early 2000’s tech advertisement. Text: You’re in Control Take your image in vain and sell it for a profit at the low low cost of your autonomy! You won’t even know what they do with it! Do the pixelated scars still hurt when they’re bleeding through the screen? Do you feel violated yet? You can’t seriously be surprised. YOU CHOSE THIS. No rights reserved Additional details: The text “You’re in Control” came from the packaging of a sewing machine. I destroyed the box during an emotional breakdown, finding irony in the fact that only the text “you’re in control” was left in tact. The background image is a heavily warped and edited picture of my friend’s phone screen after she smashed it on a night out. The pixel count is purposely kept low to obscure the image and text. The photo of my hands tied together was taken by @jay_wilson.makes and lit by @issyhardcastledesigns 768 x 1024px #photography #graphicdesign #posterart #bodyhorror #procreate #collage #ual #photoediting

“Sell Your Body Online!” This piece explores the dehumanising concept and reality of selling your body in a literal sense as a product online, highlighting the cultural dissociation and disconnect that comes with the distortion of one’s self image through digitisation. The physical aspect of the piece consists of plaster cast sculptures of my fingers and hand packaged and presented as commercially sold meat products. The significance of meat imagery throughout the piece draws comparisons between the grotesquely mundane act of dissociation that comes with treating the body as an object to be brought and sold. Paired with a single cast of my middle finger hanging from a chain, painted in the style of pixelation.
