After a long wait, we’re proud to officially welcome @aidantattoos to our tattoo studio. As one of our own pro-team artists with Hustle Butter Deluxe, it only made sense to bring her fully into the tattoo shop family. Aidan’s path into tattooing has always been rooted in both art and compassion. After beginning her career in design, she moved from to in 2016 to pursue tattooing, learning from top artists from around the world. Following serious medical challenges that paused her career, she made a powerful return in 2023 with renewed purpose and passion. Today, Aidan specializes in custom tattoos and restorative work, from lettering and cosmetic tattooing to areola restoration, helping clients feel confident, empowered, and at home in their own skin. While she’s now based with us in NYC, she also works out of Big Sleeps Studio and spends much of the year traveling. I DECIDED TO LEAVED INKED. I am no longer going to be associated with the shop(s) and magazine. I’ve spent years biting my tongue and being treated with the bare minimum.
To my clients: unfortunately, I’m not able to access any of my client information. Even though all my clients I’ve had I’ve brought into the studio, apparently I can’t get access to it.

This is from a a photoshoot 1 month ago. Just got them back and had to post. When I see myself here compared to how I am today, I feel a lot of emotions. I see the scars up and down, and across my torso from all the surgeries. But what I feel the most is that I see myself and how strong I am and what I continue to overcome. A real example of how looks can be deceiving - what may appear fine on the outside is the opposite of what’s happening on the inside.
And that can apply to anything. So remember to be kind. The person you walk past today could be someone’s worst day, best day, last day — but the more important question is this: if everything were to change, right now, would you feel like you’ve truly lived?
I’m blessed to be able to say I have, and I want to continue to truly live this life by doing what feels is my purpose, which is to make other people happy. Something I can do with my craft, humor, empathy, understanding, compassion.

🙏🏼❤️the road is still very long ahead with assembling this new care team, doctors appointments, surgeries, recovering from then and so on - and not working for an unknown period of time. But everyone’s ongoing support is making the biggest difference in more ways I can say.
EYE had so much fun with this hand tattoo!! I’d love to do more black and grey + lettering pieces. This was something so different than what I’ve tattooed and I wanna keep doing more.

The overlapping screens, the repetition, the distortion it mirrors the way a tattoo artist works. Nothing is linear. It’s references, revisions, time stacked on time. You’re seeing pieces of her environment, her focus, her energy, all colliding in one frame.
By creating arte with my camera and capturing her image, I’m not hiding her I’m showing how much of her exists beyond what you see. The artist, the process, the constant motion behind stillness.
