IDEA+ Inside the Process...
This concept began with a sculptural vintage coupe - a small but magnetic object that perfectly captured the spirit of 70s glamour: tactile, sensual, a little indulgent, and undeniably cool. Behind the scenes, the design unfolded through an exploration of contrasts and era-defining moods, guided by Amanda Hamilton’s fascination with the dynamic tension between past and present.
Influences from travel, eclectic interiors, and iconic 70s fashion houses shaped the early development of palette, form, and texture. As the vision sharpened, a personal colour story emerged - one she had been refining for her own home - rich, saturated, and deeply evocative.
The process became an exercise in layering: playful patterns beside sleek finishes, lush fabrics against industrial metals, bold ideas softened by intimacy. A study in how nostalgia can be reimagined into something modern, experiential, and alive.

For the Madison Avenue Executive Suites, luxury living is about creating a space where comfort, thoughtful design, and everyday convenience come together effortlessly in the heart of downtown Calgary.
Amanda brought the real to @fuckupnightsyyc —no holding back. 🥊
From ignoring her P&L (oops) to being celebrated while things were secretly falling apart, her story was a powerful reminder that entrepreneurship isn’t always what it seems. At the end of the day, it all comes back to how you feel navigating the chaos (spoiler alert: she does it well)

“Came for the exploration. Stayed for the snacks. Hong Kong is quickly becoming my absolute favourite city. Glossy towers, back-alley noodle spots, design inspiration (aesthetic + culinary) hiding in plain sight. A little R&D, a little indulgence, a lot of “wait, stop, I need a photo of that.”
Consider this a soft launch of ideas that may or may not quietly make their way into future projects.

AHID is growing and we’re looking for two key players to join our team. If you thrive on variety, technical rigour, and an “own it” mentality, we want to meet you!
⚡️ INTERMEDIATE INTERIOR DESIGNER: 5+ years of experience. You navigate complexity without panic and lead projects with confidence.
⚡️ STUDIO MANAGER: The engine of our office. Looking for someone with accounting experience and a knack for organization. Experience in the Interior Design industry (or adjacent) is a major asset!
📍Positions are on-site, and applicants should be from Calgary and the surrounding area. If outside of Calgary, the candidate must already be, or be willing to relocate, at their own expense, to Calgary in short order.
