I loved getting to figure out the transition of pedestrians to dancers for moments die @barrieshhh video. My commutes on the train the weeks before this were very fun- filled with observation.🕵🏻‍♂️ ty @perfectworld._ ❤️ @tendrrbendrr @blackgirltroi @milkdrink2000 @coleenintheclouds @kdasher

WHAT IS GOING <3 @mamieheldman @jennadorian invited me into a conversation around loss and relationships. Suddenly I’m in a rehearsal space with strangers sharing their stories abstractly, saying “does this make any sense?” And me nodding along. This was such a brief encounter of quick connection, I’m so happy I got to contribute and that it came out so beautifully. @yourformulababy @mamieheldman look at you go! Thank you for having me

I’m pretty sure everyone in that room teleported for atleast 15 minutes on Saturday. This piece was inspired by all of the women in my life. Thank you to everyone who showed up, assisted, and shared their experience afterwards. The performance portrayed endings and new beginnings. Each color represented emotions that we have been forced to feel these past few months. The songs outlined hopes for liberation and freedom. (You can listen to the performance mix on SoundCloud :) Love you all, painted hugs. #paintperformance #emilytanart #etastudios

one time I had a dance teacher tell me my energy stopped at my wrists and that I must continue to move through my hands. Proud of the progress my hands have made. more on this tour later 🐈
