✖️ THE MAKING OF FORMS ✖️
Our birthday always gives us a chance to explore new creative pathways. This year, we wanted to push forward from last year’s 10 Orbits collection and evolve it into something new and fresh.
We landed on FORMS, an exploration of Platonic Forms and mathematical drawings taken from journals dating back to the 1500s.
It’s always a challenge trying to get everything to align. This year, we added another layer of complexity by creating a code and a codex, allowing you to collect each symbol and, once complete, translate it into a word connected to the project.
That word was FORMULATION.
Thank you so much to everyone who played along and got involved. We keep pushing forward because you inspire us to do so 🙏

Who doesn't love pie? Available in Hong Kong from today, our collaboration with @trackbrewingco for the @8x8brewingproject this year, A Piece of the Pie, took inspiration from the classic British crumble, but with a twist, based on bringing together some ideas we had both previously made. We brewed a big Pastry Sour with lots of fresh peach, some bourbon salted caramel and fresh Ceylon cinnamon. It's a super bright, fun beer with cinnamon up front, followed by the peach and finishing with the bourbon salted caramel crust. We had a great time collaborating, and as you can see, the can artwork brings together both of our aesthetics. Happy International Women’s Day 💜🤍💚
My heart is so full from the past week. Every year I pour my heart and soul into making our IWD events as good as they possibly can be, and it’s worth it every time. Opening the doors of our industry up to those who unfortunately don’t often get a key is really important, and something we strive to keep doing. Every year it’s just the most beautiful experience to see people who were previous strangers then laughing together, creating art together, learning together, having a beer together and then exchanging numbers and becoming friends outside of this too. To be a part in bringing all of that together, really is something very special - and it makes all of the work worth it.
Thank you to every single one of you that came down to our brew days, & thank you for jumping into the creative part too, you’re all the coolest and it was an honour to spend the days with you all. Thank you for reminding me the ‘why’. 💜

Tuesday 5th March - Still Life Drink & Draw w/ HOP ✍️
House of Payne (AKA HOP), is ran by the wonderful Lisa, she hosts Life & Still Life Drawing Classes up and down the country. We’re looking forward to her hosting a Still Life Drink & Draw event at the taproom, where we’ll draw a variety of Still Life with some brewery bits included! All equipment provided.

Wednesday 6th March - Crochet Workshop w/ Josephine Goods 🧶
Sarah, the creative mind behind Josephine Goods, creates beautiful knitted and crocheted accessories by hand, in Manchester. We’re really excited to have her run a workshop in the taproom, where you’ll learn the ancient techniques of crochet & take home your hand-crocheted dish/face cloth!

Thursday 7th March - Linocut Print Workshop w/ Cheryl Maslen 🎨
Cheryl is the artist behind the beautiful designs on our Brewer’s Cut labels, first making our connection with when she came to an IWD Brew Day last year, it only felt right to have her share her magic in a workshop in the taproom. In this workshop you’ll dive into the world of Lino printing and you’ll take home your very own landscape print!

Friday 8th March - to celebrate the official International Women’s Day, we’ll be having live DJ sets in the taproom as well as a special IWD Pizza menu from Slice Culture 🍕🪩

The Digital Aus Collection 🪸
For the design of these Australian collaborations I delved into the world of coral, to create designs that explore the Great Barrier Reef - a world I’ve always been fascinated by! 🌊
Printed on holographic material I tried to recreate the iridescent effect of the beautiful organisms down in the deep blue 🪼 it was really awesome to work alongside the breweries too, to create synonymous designs!
I entered this project at the end of last year feeling a little uninspired, but with the help of @stefan_trackbrewco the creativity was reignited and we figured it out together and I’m really proud of where we ended up! ✨

I was thrilled to be approached by @mothaiba_drink to create a label for their Pandan Vodka 🍃
In Vietnam, instead of saying ‘cheers!’, ‘MOT HAI BA’ is yelled before drinking - which inspired them to choose this name!
🟩 I used lots of references to the interesting shape of the Pandan leaf. The shape within the word-mark will change each time depending on the adjunct used.
🎨 I did lots of research into various routes and discovered Dong Ho paintings, the colours I selected are based on the natural inks used in those paintings, and they’ll change depending on the addition used in the Vodka.
❇️ And the layout of the word-mark itself has a nod to the Seal Stamps belonging to East & South East Asia! Paired with a playful but funky typeface!
