Pond
2026
Pencil on baking paper, wooden frame
96 x 93 x 4 cm
“Pond” is a drawing that translates the shifting currents, ripples, water caustics, and the movements of plants and animals within a pond ecosystem. Veiled beneath a thin sheet of translucent paper, the work depends on light and the movement of air to become visible, evoking the sensation of looking through the surface of water. Drawing operates as a process of mark-making: small, repetitive gestures carried out without a fixed outcome. While inspired by a pond, the work does not depict it literally, instead, it records kinetic observations and reorganizes them into a pattern language of her own.

The @amaru.villa art house is an interesting part of #UbudOpenStudios. Each year multiple artists take the space over. It’s a living archive, a space that absorbs and reflects the artistic interventions of its visitors.
The artists envision Amaru as an entity that actively invites artistic collaboration, where the house itself becomes a participant in creative exchange. By engaging with its architecture, contents, and embedded histories, artists are encouraged to respond to Amaru’s unique materiality through site-specific installations, performances, or other forms of artistic inquiry. In 2025, the artists included @aharimu , @gusade__ , @utayutay , @wayanlegianta and @tia.rma
As part of the MTN Seni Budaya platform at Art Central Hong Kong 2026, we are proud to present our booth featuring works by Aharimu and Cecil Mariani.
Through this presentation, we bring together the sweet-and-saturated oil paintings of @aharimu with the interdisciplinary, research-driven works of @cecilmariani —creating a dialogue between two distinct artistic approaches within Indonesia’s contemporary art landscape.
Together, these works reflect the richness and evolving voices of Indonesian contemporary art.

River / little nothing
A simple song about our wanderings. No matter which way you flow, don't worry, you'll get there 〰️
Perhaps I'll be there too.
