Get @reshare_app • @laanimalrescue This shmellow of a dog was sitting in the shelter for 55 days without any serious interest. He was listed as “major medical” for URI, visual impairment & injured eye. We had no idea if the eye would need to be removed. Turns out the eye just has an old injury but he’s not uncomfortable. The boy smelled like a big block of stinky cheese. Thank you to Dr. Lockhart and the team at @shermanoaksvet for always being ready to help in an instant. He’s de-cheesed, neutered, ears treated, got some eye meds and we’re waiting on his fecal test. So far he’s mellow, good with the dogs he’s met and he loves his foster dad. This guy is safe because of a committed, experienced foster. Thankfully his medical needs were not as severe as anticipated but we can always use help with the vet costs and daily costs. Get @reshare_app • @laanimalrescue Elliot came to us a year ago. He was a community cat that got injured and his feeder felt it was better for him to live that Inside Only life. He was basically too sweet for the streets. We have few of those. 😊 Well, he went in for a routine visit to monitor him for crystals since he had them when he was first rescued. He was clear of crystals but they noticed a “weird” kidney. The ultrasound didn’t show much so we are doing a blood test and going to recheck him in a few weeks to see if that gives us more information on that kidney and if it needs to be removed. Elliot is approx 4yo and extremely polite with other cats and affectionate with everyone he meets. We care for many cats and we can always use help with donations to assist with the cost of vet care, litter, food, etc… Keep your paws crossed for Elliot. We really hope he does not need surgery. Right now Knox really relies on the comfort & safety he feels with James. Their story is sad but VERY common. Abandoned in the desert. Living on the streets. Thankfully kind humans got involved and our doggy heroes at @hopeforpawsrescue stepped in! And when they asked us if we wanted to join the effort, we couldn’t say no. They are here now and we will let them settle and then we’ll start looking for their forever homes. No rush. Let’s get them comfortable and we’ll get to know them. James is easy, he’s charming and easy going. Knox has a bit more emotional baggage and might take a little longer to trust. Want to help? Get @reshare_app • @laanimalrescue Skye was found on the street with her puppies. Someone took the family in and adopted out all the pups leaving Skye without a place to go. It’s a bizarre backstory that still doesn’t totally make sense but the fact is, Skye has been with her current foster since October and she’s been coming to our adoption events with no luck at finding her forever home. 😔 <2yo, 43lbs, no health issues. She’s GREAT with children. Won’t even try to steal their snacks. I wish I had that kind of self control. House trained. Very playful and would probably be best in a home with another dog to play with. She’s a dog park dog. Great with cats too! Raptor (white with spots) Eagle (tan with white) Hornet (tan) Have not received any serious adoption interest. Also available(not pictured) Chinook, Lightening & Osprey. They are about 14 weeks now. Healthy, active, social and very ready to move on to their forever homes. Shep/super-mutt mix. Estimate they won’t be more than 30-40lbs. They will be back at the adoption event as usual, this Sunday 10:30-12:30.
