I am excited to share that I am joining the FIFA World Cup 26 team as Senior Scenic and Systems Manager, Ceremonies for Mexico, with a focus on the Opening Ceremony.
It is important for me to mention that this feels like a full circle moment. Back in 2010, during Mexico’s Bicentennial Festivities, I began working closely with international companies and teams, including Five Currents and Marco Balich’s group. That period shaped my perspective on large-scale public storytelling and I also built friendships and professional relationships with people who are still leading major global shows today. Coming into FIFA now connects those early years with everything I’ve built since.
Over the past 20 years, my work has lived at the intersection of storytelling and infrastructure. I have led large-scale live events, broadcasts, and film productions where timing, safety, and technical reliability are non negotiable. This includes my current work as Line Producer on México 86 for Netflix and Gaumont, a complex production requiring tight operational discipline and multi-stakeholder alignment.
As a Mexican, contributing to a World Cup hosted in my home country is deeply personal. Mexico hosting again is historic, and returning to the Estadio Azteca for a third time carries real weight. The opportunity to help shape an Opening Ceremony that is multicultural, proudly rooted in Mexican culture, and executed with world-class precision is something I take very seriously.
Now more than ever, we need worldwide integration. The world is moving fast, technology is evolving daily, and the World Cup is one of the few platforms that can bring people together with joy, respect, and shared meaning. I am grateful for the trust and looking forward to working with an exceptional team to deliver a ceremony experience that is safe, bold, and unforgettable.
