Cryolophosaurus by @creaturesculp / @aguscarrersculp
This model’s feather patterns were a war of attrition. Because a snow leopard theme was requested, dry brushing or airbrushing didn’t really hit the mark because of all the varying feather texture. So, they were all done by hand.
Because @paigntonzoo recently welcomed some cassowary chicks, Joe was inspired to use their colors for these more ancient theropods. If you live in the area, go see them! So cute.
Agustin does fantastic texture and detail work, and it’s always a joy watching one of his models take shape.

We present our full-scale Ankylosaurus bust, designed for exhibition and developed to the highest standards of realism. The piece has been fabricated using polyurethane, fiberglass, and polyester and photopolymer resins, and has been entirely hand-painted.
This project is based on a scientifically rigorous 3D model, developed using information provided by multiple sources, which has made it possible to reproduce with scientific accuracy both the anatomy and the complex dermal texture of the animal, achieving a result that is faithful, realistic, and visually striking.
We are particularly pleased with the final outcome, the result of a significant collective effort and close collaboration among all professionals involved in the process.
This work reflects our commitment to quality, detail, and technical excellence in exhibition and museum projects.

Carnotaurus para @creaturesculp veremos que sale de acá. Debo decir que no es la particular piel lo que más me atrae ni los aproximadamente 50km/h que podía alcanzar, mucho menos sus brazos ridículamente cortos ni sus cuernos. Lo que más me atrae de este bichazo es que me remonta a mi niñez y mi fanatismo absurdo, uno de los primeros quizá. Me trae imágenes que me gustaría volver a vivir, lo más cercano que encontré fue una canción que sonaba bastante seguido los sábados de limpieza en casa.
Hi there I (Joe) am posting up now with an update on the cryolophosaurus from @creaturesculp / @aguscarrersculp
I don’t know what more to say that isn’t in the video- but this is gorgeous and I’ll be taking it to SVP in Birmingham later this year if anyone want to see it in person.
We still plan on putting it on the site this week so you can have your own- we’re working on getting the pegs a bit better at the moment for the tail. Once that’s sorted, up it goes!

Just take a look at this BIG cryolophosaurus Joe’s just taken off the printer!
IT.IS.STUNNING.
We’ve printed it hollow to prevent sagging under its own weight later (an issue with big bipedal kits) and put in guide holes under its feet for rods - and then we have to commend @creaturesculp for nailing this early theropod.
This is going to be so much fun to paint and assemble at this scale.
