Here’s the fifth entry in the @5hourenergy One Shot Photo of the Year portion of the 2025 @bigwavechallenge . The rules are simple -– each of the photographers who have participated during the regular season of the @bigwavechallenge have been asked to pick a single image shot during the last year that speaks to them. More selections dropping daily. The winner will be announced at the awards show on September 13 and the three top finishers share $8,000. @surfer_magazine

The craziest run of mavericks I’ve ever captured. Flew straight from jaws into a week of waves that progressively got bigger and better. Winter of 2021. Will this upcoming El Niño provide us with something similar?
