This summer, I was invited to participate in an art exhibit for Production Designers. Art Within the Craft was meant to showcase that production designers are not just executors of other people’s ideas. We are creators of our own vision. And we are capable of making things without guidance from a script or a director. Octopus Laundry was a personal passion project. It was about longing for a place and a feeling. A chase for youthful carelessness. Initially, it started as an idea for a photoshoot, but later I thought “what if I brought a piece of a place for people to experience?”. Ultimately, that’s what I am good at. And there I was, playing with flex rubber, sculpting and mold-making for over a month. It was an endless trial and error, but I constantly felt child-like sense of joy. Thank you for seeing the artist in me :) Till next time. My Production Design reel is finally here! For the past year I’ve got to work on so many inspiring projects and created special worlds within. Thanks to everyone who has nurtured my talent this far and continues to contribute to my growth. I appreciate you and I dedicate my passion to you. Oh how lucky I am to have found something I love early in life 💌 (although everyone tells me every day to not get into film industry, yet here we are trying!). For those who have no idea what PD is… well, basically I make interiors and exteriors of film sets look ~pretty~ !! Which sometimes involves digging through trash, going to dusty prop houses and being a carpenter. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
