Attempts to catch the wind. Samsø 2026. In the quietness of this magic island, as in any other place, the wind blows, inevitably, regardless.. If you can't catch it, play with it! In my residency at Agerupgård I created a series of screen-printed windsocks and I took them with me around the island searching for the wind. Eventually it always found me first! Belgian artists @ralphleeten and @noahhaeck spent a week in our graphic studio in early April. Ralph screen printed on thick glass slabs and Noah created a woodcut. If you're in Antwerp, check out Ralph Leetens exhibition 'Anthropocentric Duality', which opens at @forbiddencityantwerp tomorrow ✨

Historiske dage på Bisgaard 🌿 Fredag d. 17/4 åbner vi for Samsøs skoleelever fra alle 3 skoler, som træder ind i 1800-tallet gennem oplevelser og aktiviteter. Lørdag d. 18/4 kl. 10-16 åbner vi for hele øen 💚 
Her kan du opleve hverdagslivet på Bisgaard i 1800-tallet – formidlet af rollespillere fra Den Gamle By og af lokale frivillige, af øens formidlere, foreninger, kunstnere og iværksættere. Gå på opdagelse i dagens program: – ild, båloptænding og mad som i gamle dage 🔥 – falke i luften og historisk falkejagt 🪶 – naturværksted med snittearbejde og viden om naturens ressourcer. – lyd, musik og tryk fra 1800-tallet – sommerfugle Ø: formidling om biodiversitet og historiske ændringer i vores natur. 🦋 – udstilling i bindingsværkshuset skabt af øens elever 🌱 Mere information følger på vores hjemmeside og Facebook. Recently belgian artist @joris_de_rycke spent 3 weeks on Agerupgård for a residency, to produce a series of linoleum cuts based on his work around apples. Joris collects and maps out wild apple trees, sprung from fruit threwn away by humans. The tasty ones, he makes copies of and pairs them with an accompanying print, building simple iconography connected to the places where the trees were found (near highways, churches, former industrial sites etc.). Both prints and trees can be seen at his upcoming exhibition at @pizzagalleryspace in Antwerp, which opens at 17h today! Joris already started doing inventory on the wild apple trees growing on Samsø. We are excited about his further investigations and findings 🍏 🍏 🍏

FORÅRSUDSTILLING i Grafisk Værksted Agerupgård 2.+3. april kl. 10-17 Henover vinteren huser gårdens grafiske værksted et åbent atelier, hvor en gruppe kunstnere mødes regelmæssigt for at eksperimentere med serigrafi, træsnit, linoleumssnit og koldnålsradering. Snus til friske tryk og se nye grafiske værker af: Ulla Enevoldsen Lisbet Gertz Malene Eggers Eva Vestergård Andersen Agerupgårds trykværksted @agerupgrafik byder på rige muligheder for det kunstneriske arbejde med grafik. Vi huser kunstnerophold, producerer grafik og kunstnerbøger i oplag, trykker håndlavede træskilte og meget andet. Der afholdes jævnligt kurser og seminarer med fokus på bestemte teknikker. Kig forbi og hør om vores arbejde i den grafiske verden! Udstillingen er en del af VÆRK & VIRKE - Kunstdage på Samsø, hvor du kan besøge mere end 20 kunstnere fordelt over hele øen. Dear friends, Thank you for 2025 — what a fruitful year lies behind us! We are deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of everything from our Artist in Residence programme, the unbelievable GRØN MUSIK festival, seminars and workshops, to exhibitions and the opening of the shop of @agerupgrafik in Tranebjerg. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all artists, volunteers, friends and family, woofers, interns and collaborators for your time, care, and commitment throughout the year. As we look ahead, we are excited about what’s already taking shape in the coming months: @johannkauth will have an exhibition at Danske Grafikeres Hus in Copenhagen opening march 6th. We will host spring residencies from March to May. Our first lejerskole week takes place in April. The second edition of SALAD DAYS Festival is set for 14–15 August — save the date! We have the pleasure to announce that Juliane Schreiber will contribute the coming summer exhibition in the old horse stable. We are currently working on securing permits to host public events in the barn again and doing some smaller renovations there. We are happy to welcome people into the project; currently we are looking for interns to help with writing funding applications, woofers and volunteers to help care for plants and animals, groups interested in seminars and workshops in the graphic studio. We look forward to share another year of art and music, exchange, and togetherness with you. Warm greetings from Samsø!

This saturday December 20th is your last chance to apply within the OPEN CALL for a residency coming spring on @agerupgaard ! In our graphic studio you have the opportunity to experiment with screen printing, woodcut and letterpress. Realize your visions and produce editions, publications or printed textiles. Recently we acquired a collection of vintage metal and wooden type, all sans serif fonts in various sizes and shapes plus leads and spaces. We’ve also added an electric paper cutting guillotine, which cuts up to 65cm wide and 61cm deep - it’s already now a game changer in the studio :-) Currently we are restoring a KORREX Berlin proofing press, which prints up to 50x70cm More info on the Open Call via link in bio.

During her recent residency at Agerupgård, Nadine Rafi Ocean Smales (London/Berlin) started exploring the beetroot as a material; turning it into pigment, a flute, paper, makeup, … “In the light of it being a root vegetable, the word “rooted” came to mind: what does it mean to root yourself in a place? What materials are around me, and what can I turn them into? My process became playful and primitive — stripping stems from nettles to unravel fibres, testing how plants hold themselves, learning from their structures. Papermaking became my way of capturing the dialogue of these materials. I pressed nettles, beetroot, and recycled scraps from the island into sheets that recorded their transformations. Breaking down and rebuilding felt both playful and architectural — a way of collaborating with the land. I learned how materials transform, how fibres behave, and how even the most ordinary plants can become partners in making.” This Saturday December 13th at 16h Nadine will present the outcome of her residency in the back space of @agerupgrafik and @rustfelt 's boutique in Tranebjerg. Vi deltager i Julemarked i Besser Forsamlingshus kommende lørdag og søndag fra kl. 10-16 med diverse produkter fra gården - grafiske plakater og tryk, håndstøbte lys, marmelade af frugt fra haven m.m.. ✨✨✨ Lørdag den 13. december holder Agerup Grafik og @rustfelt juleåben i butikken på Amalie Torv i Tranebjerg fra kl. 13-18. 🎄🎄🎄

Agerup AIR residents Eszter Koncz (HU) and Kirstine Hupfeldt Nielsen (DK) stayed at Agerupgård from 20 oct - 16 nov. “We arrived on Samsø in late october to look for sea monsters. We searched the fjord, the harbours, the books in the library, the empty beaches, the hills and the ponds, the old legends, the stars, and all the bike roads from Nordby to Vesborg Fyr. We were guided by kind islanders full of stories, documents with gothic letters, blue-humanist litterature and a never ceasing curiosity for the wonders of Samsø and the sea around it. We are composing our findings into a newspaper that we have slowly started to put together in the studio of @agerupgrafik .” Kirstine Hupfeldt Nielsen (DK) and Eszter Koncz (HU) met while studying for an MA in 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘣𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 at The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. They have both spent a significant time by the sea while growing up (K by the North Sea and E by the Mediterranean) and its influence leaks into their artistic practice. They are passionate collectors of objects and picker-ups of stories: clues that they then weave together into a new narrative. @eszterkcz @kihupni
