Her photos slowly worked their way into my illustrations, and those illustrations eventually became a story about finding connection in some of the world’s most remote places. I wanted to capture, in my own way, the same sense of beauty and reverence for these delicate ecosystems that she captures in her work. Mom — this book would not exist without you.
