🎉 Let’s celebrate Andrea Ishmael, a recent graduate of @researchandservicepanthers , as our next #IMhistoryinthemaking spotlight! Andrea pitched @granny_and_me.nyc as a solution to close the generation gap between elders and teens in our community. Despite being shy and timid at first, she pushed through and hosted 40 Granny & Me sessions in Brooklyn! Andrea now has her own LLC, won the Vibe Grant, and will be expanding her program this Spring. Congrats, Andrea! Congratulations to all of our Holiday Lights Contest WINNERS! We want to thank all who entered our second annual competition and lit up our blocks with the beauty and warmth of the season.
The #bedstuy and #crownheights Merchants and Block Associations really went all out! This year, we doubled the amount of block associations and added a whole new category for businesses. The holiday spirit and positive energy was evident in every design.
Our sleigh ride around the 56th Assembly District on December 18th to see the lights was awesome and filled with oohs, aahs, laughter and good cheer. We look forward to tripling the number of contestants next year!
