Founded by Tatiana Teixeira, a Portuguese with a passion for sustainable development, AfroWema empowers local artisans by using locally sourced and upcycled materials like denim, deadstock fabric, and brass to create waste-free, plastic-free fashion. The brand collaborates with local tailors and designers in Kibera to produce high-end wearable art, blending African heritage with eco-conscious practices. At Lintons Academy Hair by L’Oreal, our students translated Afrowema’s vision into creative, high-impact hair designs that elevated their overall Uhai shoot and complemented the fashion narrative.
