I attended an exclusive media chat and year end briefing with the President of the Treasury Board of Canada and the MP for Brampton - Chinguacousy Park, @shafqatalimp where the focus was on affordability, growth, and resilience in building CANADA STRONG. We also discussed trade diversification, including a $70bn FIPA agreement with the UAE, regulatory simplification to cut business costs, and an expenditure review to reinvest savings for Canadians, all part of the vision to build a stronger Canada 🇨🇦. My concern was how small businesses especially pan African Startups, can leverage on some of those revolutionary policies to thrive. These are some of the key visions of @afrocommerceconnect #CanadaStrong #PanAfrican #Smallbusinesses #ShafqatAli

ICYMI: On August 8, the @citybrampton and @investbrampton - Economic Development Office proudly hosted @afrocommerceconnect 2.0: an initiative dedicated to fostering economic empowerment, cultural exchange, and community integration for Afro-Canadian entrepreneurs, Nigerian businesses, and African diaspora communities across Canada. The event brought together business leaders, investors, and innovators for a day of networking, keynote presentations, panel discussions, and sector insights. With a population of over 1.4 billion and a rapidly growing middle class, Africa presents immense opportunities for trade, investment, and innovation. Through Brampton’s Investment Attraction desk, Africa is a priority market for foreign direct investment, with strategic focus on technology partnerships, infrastructure development, and connecting entrepreneurs to North American opportunities. In the spirit of National Black Business Month, Afro Commerce Connect became more than an event, it was a showcase of Brampton’s vision for an innovation economy without borders. Here, Black entrepreneurs aren’t just part of the story; they’re shaping it, driving growth, forging global connections, and building legacies that span from Brampton to markets around the world. 📈 If you’re ready to explore how Brampton’s Investment Services team can help you expand, settle, and thrive in our city, click the link in @investbrampton ’s bio connect with us today. #InvestBrampton #NationalBlackBusinessMonth #BramptonBusiness #GlobalTrade #InvestmentAttraction #AfricanDiaspora #EconomicEmpowerment #BramptonInnovation #WhyBrampton #BusinessExpansion
