PART 2 ; Stepping into the world of art, history, culture and untold African stories at the Zanzibar Museum of Art.
Every wall, every piece, every corner had a story to tell⌠from heritage and identity to creativity that speaks beyond words.
As someone who loves storytelling and expression, this was such an inspiring experience to witness firsthand.
Art truly has a way of preserving history while shaping conversations for the future.

The summit ended. The magic didnât. â¨.
On the final day of the 7th Africa Women Summit, our delegates didnât rush to airports and pack away the memories. They walked into them.
Stone Town, Zanzibar opened her arms â and we walked in, all of us, together. đ
Narrow cobblestone streets that have held centuries of stories. Ancient doorways carved with intention. The scent of spice in the air, the sound of the ocean never too far. A city that has watched empires rise and fall â and is still standing, still breathing, still magnificent.
And in the middle of all of it â African women. Laughing. Wandering. Wondering. Connecting.
Some were reflective, carrying the weight of three days of powerful conversations in their hearts. Some were celebratory, still buzzing from breakthroughs and bonds formed across borders. Some were simply curious â eyes wide, cameras out, drinking in every detail of this island that holds so much of our history.
All of them were present.
There is something deeply symbolic about African women â gathered from across the continent and the diaspora â walking through a city like Stone Town. A place shaped by African hands, African trade, African resilience.
We didnât just tour it. We recognised ourselves in it.
This is what AWS does. It doesnât just give you a summit â it gives you an experience. A full immersion into the beauty of what we are, where we come from, and where we are going.
To every delegate who walked those streets with us â thank you for bringing your full self to Zanzibar. You made it unforgettable.
And to everyone who is watching from the sidelines â
AWS8 is calling. Will you answer? đ
đ Follow us for updates on the next edition.

âDREAMâ âI used to think dreams only come alive when we lay our heads down to sleepâŚ
and honestly, most times we donât even remember them.
But this one â this dream â stayed.
Back in December 2025, I spoke it out loud.
I told my brother, âOne day, I will moderate an AWS session.â
It sounded distant, almost unreal⌠like something meant for âsomeday.â Yet here I am.
An official member of the AWS Moderator Team,
standing in a space I once imagined, now trusted to lead a conversation on youth and gender advocacy.
As a youth leader, I strongly believe:
we are not meant to be seated at tables just for representation, for photos or for optics.
We are meant to be heard.
We are meant to contribute.
We are meant to influence decisions that shape our future.
And @africawomensummit didnât just give me a seat, it gave me a voice in the room where real decisions are made.
I got to speak.
To challenge.
To stand for something that goes beyond me.
And what makes it even more powerful?
The conversations didnât end in that room.
Declarations were made, impactful ones that will ripple into our lives long after we walked out.
This is what happens when youth are not just present, but included.
So maybe dreams arenât just for when we sleep.
Maybe theyâre for when we dare to speak them,
to chase them,
and to show up fully when the moment comes.
Because sometimesâŚ
the dream becomes the reality. #explore #youth #leadership #aws #women
100 WOMEN. ONE CONTINENT. INFINITE POWER.
They didnât wait for permission.
They didnât shrink to fit the room.
They are the room.
At the 7th Africa Women Summit in the spice-kissed, ocean-breathed paradise of Zanzibar, Tanzania đšđż, history didnât just happen â it was made by women with their names on it.
This year, the Africa Women Summit honoured 100 Reputable Women of African Descent â 100 women whose work, leadership, and audacity are reshaping what it means to be an African woman in the world today.
Founders. Legislators. Innovators. Healers. Builders. Disruptors.
Women who show up â not just for themselves, but for every girl watching.
If your name wasnât on this yearâs list, let that light a fire in you â not a wound.
Because the list doesnât define greatness. Greatness finds the list.
Next year, that name could be yours.
Your business. Your impact. Your story. Your legacy.
The Africa Women Summit is watching. Africa is watching. The world is watching.
To the 100 women honoured this year â the continent sees you, salutes you, and rises because of you.
And to every woman reading this who wasnât listed yet:
Come as you are. Build. Lead. Rise.
Your Zanzibar moment is coming. đ
đ Follow us. Stay connected. Your recognition season starts now.

At the 7th Edition of the Africa Women Summit in Zanzibar, I had the privilege of speaking during a very open and impactful panel session on womenâs mental health and the invisible weight many women carry daily.
The conversation brought together professionals, and advocates who shared deep insights, practical perspectives and honest experiences around emotional wellbeing, societal expectations, leadership, caregiving and the pressures women silently navigate.
There were hard conversations. There were teary moments. There was openness, vulnerability and powerful reflection but above all, there was understanding and a shared commitment to creating healthier spaces for women to thrive.
Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such an important dialogue at a gathering committed to advancing women across Africa.

As a Compere and Broadcaster, asking the right questions during panel discussions is one of my greatest strengths.
From introducing the panel and setting the right tone, to steering thought-provoking conversations and ending each session on a high note, I understand the power of meaningful dialogue and audience engagement.
Here is a little excerpt from the 7th Edition of the African Women Summit held in ZanzibarâŚ
Raw, unfiltered and impactful.
This is beyond moderation for me⌠this is presence, intellect, energy and purpose on one stage.
