this is me in the middle of @go.afterwork ’s platform launch & hosting a client event at the same time last night. In 6 months, we’ve made a name for ourselves of being SF’s corporate event planner. I’ve spent countless nights organizing, coordinating and hosting client events, all while building our corporate event platform. We went out into the field to understand what it meant to organize & host every single type of corporate event, so that we could automate the most manual and tedious parts of it. and we did it. ITS FINALLY LIVE. Using AI, you can find & book any event venue in the WORLD. my team is freaking incredible. @zoykskhan @anujan.asokkumar and all of you. You’ve supported us the past 3 years, through the lowest lows and the highs. We’re raising our Angel round, and it’s getting real with investors believing in us. LETS GOOOOO p.s. I know my mom is gonna call me out for my oily af hair. some things never get old šŸ˜‚ the best decision I ever made was hiring @the.anjum for our corporate events. Seriously.

These past few years, this feeling of dread would overcome me days leading up to my birthday. Not sure why. I’ve always loved them & had a theme with each one from childhood to early adulthood. at 22, the theme was travel & new adventures. 23 was finding new friends. 24 was covid. 25 was a car accident & so on. In my early twenties, I learned how to love people around me, unconditionally. In my mid twenties, it was building confidence & taking a chance on myself. And now (in my late twenties) well I don’t know yet. it may just be self discovery. Or using the confidence. Or not taking myself too seriously. it’s exciting. I’m ready for it. 🄳

I almost gave up 3 months ago. In January 2023 I was closer than ever on quitting on this founder journey I’ve been on. Each day it was getting tougher & tougher, with added responsibilities and life as we know it. We started with Chit-Chaat, then moved onto Accent when times were great & DEI initiatives were at an all time high. With a looming recession, and cutbacks on budget… something just didn’t sit right. Accent still exists & continues to serve its clients - but we questioned, would that be enough? I owe it to my team, who continued to show up everyday, even on the days where I couldn’t. We debated on what to do & decided to give it one last shot. Thus @go.afterwork was born. These past 4 weeks have been tough. Tough on me mentally, physically, loss of sleep, etc. But it’s finally here. We finally made it. AfterWork exists. And it’s here to take over the corporate event industry. It's funny how life comes full circle. I've always wanted to be an event planner since I was 16, but I gave up that dream after college. Who would’ve known that years later - here I am. We’ve created an event planning tool - to help people plan better events. Faster. Easier. Let’s do this.

A WHOLE TEENAGER… where does the time even go? On june 15, 2009 I remember sitting with Azzam in the game room thinking my life is about to change forever. I very vividly remember going through this realization. On June 16, 2009 we saw this little tiny girl for the first time and I couldn’t even fathom at the time how much life was going to shift. Fast forward to 2022 and I wouldn’t change it for the world. My source of love and entertainment and joy. Humza catches me all the time on looking at old videos of Ameera, but today is special!! The sweetest sister but also the biggest and my favorite drama queen!! Love you so so much. You continue to grow into this beautiful human and I miss you all the time!! Cant wait for you to eat all the macarons and Bundt cake in the world one day šŸŽ‚šŸ„³šŸ’—šŸŽ‰šŸŽ

significance of today’s outfit: My dadi (paternal grandma) has only worn sari’s her entire life. I’ve never seen her in shalwar kameez actually. She had so many royal & elegant sari’s back in the day. Many of those were banarsi silk, a luxurious hand/woven fabric - which make some of the finest sari’s in the world. The fabric originates from a city in India, and only about 40 migrants who knew the art brought it Pakistan. Today, in Pakistan there’s only a handful of them left. A few years ago, my mom had a great idea to transform one of my dadi’s banarsi sari into a timeless outfit I could wear. (We transform a lot of valuable clothing) She did the same with the dupatta she’s wearing as well. Anyways, I’ve had this for years and just recently reflected on the significance of family heirlooms. Just wanted to share. :)
