This weekend we celebrated our 2nd Annual AFJA Mother’s Day Match, and our hearts are full. What started with music, laughter, and Zumba turned into a beautiful afternoon dedicated to the incredible mothers who support our academy every single day.
From dancing competitions and raffles, to piñatas, cake, horchata, and the Mundialito finals, every moment reminded us that AFJA is more than fútbol, it is family. The Sub-13 team even managed to take the trophy from the moms this year 😅🏆
None of this would have been possible without the help of our coaches, volunteers, interns, and especially the moms who always show up with love, energy, and support for our players and community.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration so special. Seeing the smiles, laughter, and unity throughout the day is exactly what AFJA is all about.

Futbol has always brought communities together. It has transformed children from the poorest barrios in Latin America into the most iconic names in sports history - Maradona, Pelé, Messi. These legends have inspired generations to reach for similar or even greater heights. There is pure art in the beauty of a dribble or a strike that bends around a wall of players.
For the next Zenith Eye Focus show, in collaboration with Project Earth, artists from across Los Angeles have gathered to pay homage to the sport that transforms physical ability into art in motion. Our goal is to unite our community and inspire future artists and athletes to achieve their own zenith.
The collective draws inspiration from one of L.A.’s most historic neighborhoods at one of its most meaningful venues: Club Fais Do-Do in West Adams. For a limited time, this space will reopen and transform into an interactive gallery where the community can gather to enjoy the beauty of the game.
While the eyes of the world turn toward Los Angeles for the World Cup, we are turning our focus inward to the people who make this city home. We recognize the challenges our community faces when global spotlights move in, and we respond by creating a sanctuary for the beautiful game. This isn’t just an exhibition; it’s a reclamation of the sport’s true essence. This is our love letter to the game and its fans.
