OUR NEW ALBUM IS OUT TODAY
„Changing Rules“ is not about genre, it is not about being pleasant, it is not about being conform in whatever way. Our creating process is mostly based on improvising together, so we don’t choose what it sounds like, it happens. It’s a raw as gentle no compromise album, altering all dynamics from vulnerable minimalism to acid electronic distortion.
This time so many things happened while writing and recording this album.
We started recording last October and there was such golden light in which we went mushroom picking in our pauses. Every day we started with a walk through the misty nature where also our album cover pictures happened - us running towards our self-timed analog camera – 36 times :)
One time Elena ended up alone in the studio with an old CR68 drum machine running. The song „Body on Body“ was born and was directly recorded as raw as it just came out. Joseph decided to write „Something Special“ about his good old friend, the panic attack.
Forming wind is about all the moments from the last year we found ourselves in a world, where people seem to be almost dead and more scared of life (but also death), than being present in whatever they are doing or what is happening and surrounding them. Sometimes Elena finds herself talking to trees or crows (also to humans sometimes), feeling so alive being with them and with everything around. We shouldn´t sacrifice trust and connection out of a fear to dedicate ourselves to the things and beings we love. Gratitude.
That said, the song „Moon Body Eyes“ was being born. An ode to our friends which became then part of the song singing the choir at the end of the song. It was so much fun recording it togther.
We could go on with all the stories but we hope you just find yourself listening to the songs and hear and feel yourself (your own stories).
Thank you so much for being here with us! This album has been, and still is, a trip and treat for us, and we’re more than excited for the upcoming tour with you!

After @therealacidpauli relab sessions, the lyrics get even more presence than they already had, in the song it shouts: ”chain chain chain chain change it all”! manifesting that caring for each other and our surrounding and having real deep connection, are our essential gifts to grow and to cut those chains. Cut the tiring chains of patriarchy, capitalism and fascism!
With @konstantin_von_sichart and @alicedalga we made this crazy musicvideo within a day walking through the city with a slightley off make-up that gave me so much encouragement to go wild and portray the world. Enjoy watching it ! (Link in bio)

One of the coolest and most precious things about doing what you love is, when music and art forge a connection with others — After our first meeting at a concert we held onto that connection with @therealacidpauli and he was curious to follow our progress while we were recording our last album Changing Rules.
Initially we thought about adding a collaborative track to the album, but when Martin reappeared from his studio, he sent four revisionized songs, which made it impossible to pick just one. So raw and naked, pushing our minimalism even further to the bare essence. 🖤 We are mucho hyped to share the first track „No More Advice“ from this Acid Pauli Relab EP with you today! Like with the album, we took some spontaneous analogue shots with our old camera.
