MARIONETTES — a solo exhibition by artist Peter Aerschmann.
Art Station
@artstationuz invites you to the opening of Marionettes - a meditative video environment where familiar movements turn into endless cycles, and the human being exists somewhere between control and freedom.
For more than 20 years, Peter Aerschmann
@aerschmann has explored human behavior through video installations and digital tableaux vivants - a kind of “living pictures”. His characters repeat gestures again and again - like marionettes within the systems that shape our everyday reality: technology, social norms, economic processes, and ecological crises.
One of the central themes of the exhibition is ecology - not as a separate image of nature, but as part of everyday processes and habits that affect the environment. Through repetition, cyclicality, and slowed movement, the exhibition draws attention to patterns of consumption, responsibility, and the necessity of change.
Marionettes is an exhibition about repetition, vulnerability, and the possibility of transformation. About how even a small deviation from a familiar rhythm can become the beginning of change.
The exhibition is presented within the framework of the project “Art Station: crossroads of the freedom of expression, artistic creativity, inclusive dialogue and community development” under the long-standing cooperation with the Central Asia Art and Culture Programme (CAACP) by Swiss Agency for Development (SDC)
@swissembassytashkent , with support from the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia and the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Looking forward to welcoming you to the exhibition!
