That is a wrap. This run of Carrie Underwood’s Las Vegas Residency “Reflection” came with so many beautiful experiences and crazy challenges for the cast & crew. We had food poisoning, venomous spider bites, neck surgeries, severe thumb sprains, last minute show swings, deep and sad losses and funerals to attend, parents admitted to the hospital and life altering medical diagnoses….and probably so much more that I personally may not be aware of. The show must go on. This is a saying that in my over 30 years of performance and production I’ve never really been able to embrace. It just never sat well with me. BUT the show did go on. Not because it “must”, but because of the deep love and supportive environment this residency has created, and because of the incredible strength and incomparable passion of everyone involved in this production. After 3.5 years and 72 unforgettable shows, we say goodbye to something truly special. Being the aerial choreographer for this production was more than a job—it was a life-changing experience. I had the honor of working alongside a brilliant creative team, a fiercely talented band, the kindest crew, and breathtaking performers. What we built together was rare: a space full of joy, trust, artistry, and deep care—especially from our rigging and production teams, who always put safety first. There was no drama, only heart. Just a beautiful family of artists coming together to create something powerful, transformative, and full of meaning. To @carrieunderwood —thank you for your soul, your unreal talent, and for bringing us together in this aligned, magical moment in our lives. And to @barrylather —thank you for your vision, your leadership, your kindness, and for guiding this ship with such grace and brilliance. This show changed lives—mine included. Today marks one year since I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. The past 12 months feel more like five years, and I am acutely aware of the privilege and luck I’ve experienced throughout this journey. When I first heard the words, “You have cancer,” I was overwhelmed with shock, disbelief, fear, and anger. How could this happen to me? I eat well, I’m active, I’m a good person. What did I do wrong? Will I die? The terror was unlike anything I’d ever felt. What followed was an intense, grueling journey. My MRI revealed that, thankfully, the cancer hadn’t spread to my lymph nodes. I underwent a lumpectomy, and thank God, my margins came back clear. I then faced the overwhelming task of choosing my oncologist and radiation specialist, enduring lengthy appointments to discuss my options. It was terrifying, but with the incredible support of my husband, family, and a few dear friends, I navigated the tests, surgeries, tears, and ultimately, the healing. Guided by intuition and extensive research, I chose a naturopathic treatment path. I completely overhauled my lifestyle—from diet and work decisions to relationships and stress management. This holistic approach has transformed my life. The chronic anxiety I lived with before my diagnosis is nearly gone. I’m not perfect, and some days are still hard, but I’m learning to face fear with new skills. While I wouldn’t call cancer a gift, it has been life-altering in beautiful ways. My life is richer, my relationships deeper, I laugh more, and I prioritize self-care like never before. Last year, I chose to conceal my diagnosis out of fear of being judged or misunderstood. But I no longer wish to hide, on any level, who I am and what I’ve gone through to become who I am today. I am proud of the choices I’ve made. I’m proud of who I am evolving into. And I’m proud to share that I am cancer free!!! To anyone navigating a similar journey, especially if you feel alone, I see you. I am here. Ladies. Get your mammograms done. Guys. Check your prostate. Do the damn colonoscopy when it’s time. No one wants to do these things. But they may save your life. And my goodness is life ever so precious.
