Sudden cardiac arrest gives no warning and no second chances. Most people assume it only happens to older people or those with heart conditions. It does not. Swipe through to understand what is actually happening inside the body when it strikes because this is something everyone should know.
Over 400,000 Americans experience sudden cardiac arrest every year. Nearly 90 percent of them do not survive. And the brutal truth is that most of those outcomes were not inevitable. The difference almost always comes down to one thing. Whether an AED was within reach when it mattered most.
If you run a business, manage a school, or oversee any organization with people in it, our AED compliance and readiness packages at AED.US take care of everything. The device, lifetime warranty, compliance tracking, pad and battery monitoring, medical direction, and post event support all wrapped into one simple monthly rate.

Our Regional Sales Manager was on vacation in Aruba when he had to perform CPR on a complete stranger. Not at work. Not in a training scenario. On vacation.
He sat down with us to talk about what that experience was actually like, and what it reinforced about why this work matters.
Sudden cardiac arrest does not ask where you are or whether you are prepared. It just happens. And when it does, having an AED nearby is often one of the only things that changes the outcome.
Watch Jimmy’s story and if you oversee a facility, school, gym, or business, take a few minutes to think about whether your space is covered.

The safest place outside of a hospital to have a sudden cardiac arrest might surprise you.
It is not an urgent care clinic. It is not a gym with a nurse on staff. It is a casino floor.
Documented survival rates inside casinos reach as high as 74%. The national out of hospital survival rate sits at just 10%. Same cardiac arrest. Completely different outcome. Crazy right?
The reason comes down to three things. AEDs mounted throughout the building. Staff trained and ready at all times. And cameras that catch a collapse within seconds of it happening.
Over 400,000 Americans experience sudden cardiac arrest every year and nearly 90% do not survive. Not because it's unsurvivable. Because the right system was not in place.
We just released a full video breaking down why casinos beat those odds, how sudden cardiac arrest actually works, and what any business or organization can do right now to close that gap.

9 out of 10 people don’t survive cardiac arrest outside the hospital, but survival rates can improve dramatically with fast action and access to an AED. That is why doctors around the world prioritize having one within reach and recommend it for homes, workplaces, and everyday life.
AEDs are designed for anyone though, not just medical professionals. They give clear step by step voice instructions, guide you through pad placement, and only deliver a shock if it is needed. You do not have to guess or have prior training, the device walks you through everything in real time.

Can you use an AED in the rain? 🌧️
It’s one of the most common questions people hesitate to ask, but in an emergency, the answer matters.
The short answer is yes. AEDs are built for real life situations, not perfect weather. The key is simple: keep the person’s chest and the AED pads as dry as possible so the pads stick properly and the device can analyze and deliver a shock if needed.
Wipe the chest quickly using a towel, shirt, or anything available, apply the pads firmly, and follow the voice prompts. Don’t waste critical time trying to “wait out” the weather.
Cardiac arrest doesn’t pause for rain. The goal is always fast action and early defibrillation.
We just released a quick video explaining exactly what to do. If you’re responsible for safety at a workplace, school, gym, church, or even at home, this is worth a watch.
