While we may not consciously acknowledge it, research shows that our language significantly shapes our perceptions and realities.
In this film, we put the idea to the test. We asked randomly selected Danes to read sentences, and with the use of eye-tracking technology, we gained insights into subconscious biases related to job titles and gender. ⚤👀

Meet Uni - the world's first digital children's spokesperson, an avatar born from the collective faces, voices, and ideas of children from all over the world.
Uni debuted on the global stage at this year's Children's General Assembly '23 in Billund. The event brought together more than 80 children from 50 countries to raise awareness and amplify children's voices and perspectives for a better world.
We are immensely proud to have contributed to the project in collaboration with the great people at CoC Playful Minds and Capital of Children.

💬 Our language shapes our reality, whether we want it or not.
A shift towards more gender-neutral language can benefit us all as individuals, businesses, and organizations.
At Advice, we’ve taken a (small) step towards fostering the societal change we wish to see. Last week, we launched a campaign to raise awareness about our Danish language, which has been recognized as the most gender-biased in the world. Alongside the campaign, we’ve also developed a tool available for everyone to use, who’s interested in understanding how our everyday language, words, and expressions can often be substituted with alternatives that are not gender-biased.
The journey towards greater equality and inclusion begins with our words and how we as individuals feel represented. 🧡

After more than a year of planning and production, we can finally introduce our new initiative: (fælles)køn – a little piece of new technology that can help Danes unbias their language.
In Denmark, we take pride in our commitment to equality and inclusion, but we’ve fallen behind. Our recent ranking in an international report is a wake-up call: Denmark is 23rd, far behind our Nordic neighbors in the Top 5. 😲
Our labor market remains deeply gender-segregated, with Danish women earning 14% less than men for the same work. Top management positions are 86% male-dominated, and boardrooms have a staggering 9-to-1 ratio of men to women chairpersons. Furthermore, half of Denmark’s youth grapple with gender-stereotypical expectations.
As an agency within an industry that shapes people’s lives through communication and technology, we must also turn the mirror on ourselves and explore how we can contribute to making changes. And one aspect we found pivotal to address is our Danish language, which has been ranked as the most gender-biased in the world! 🗣️⚤
A gender-neutral language doesn’t have to be uninspiring or restrictive. Our language is dynamic and continuously evolving. Therefore, if we desire change, we have the power to shape it while breaking free from stereotypes and gender-biased expectations.
