💡 “Light is part of architecture. It shapes atmosphere, experience, and how spaces are felt.”
For the International Day of Light, Patrick Timmler, CEO of ADO Lights, shares what continues to drive us every day: creating customised lighting solutions that combine technical precision with architectural thinking.
Manufactured in Germany and developed in close collaboration with architects and lighting designers, every ADO Lights project begins with the same goal, making light feel integrated, intentional, and lasting.
This day is also an opportunity to thank everyone who trusts us with their ideas, challenges, and ambitious projects.
To all clients, partners, architects, and lighting designers:
thank you for continuing to shape meaningful spaces through light together with us.
Happy International Day of Light ✨

📌Sometimes, a project starts with a single line.
Not a loud gesture.
Not a dominant feature.
Just a precise line of light that guides, defines, and shapes the architecture around it.
💡That’s what LED-Flow was designed for.
Flexible, adaptable, and fully customisable, LED-Flow follows the geometry of a space with precision, across curves, edges, façades, ceilings, and landscapes. Indoors or outdoors, visible or seamlessly integrated.
But its real strength goes beyond flexibility.
It’s about giving architects and lighting designers the freedom to create atmosphere without visual clutter.
A lighting solution that becomes part of the architecture, not an addition to it.
▪ Continuous, homogeneous light without visible interruptions
▪ Flexible integration into complex geometries
▪ Customisable encapsulation colours and lighting effects
▪ Designed for both functional guidance and architectural expression
Sometimes the most memorable lighting isn’t the brightest element in the room.
It’s the subtle glow beneath a bench.
The quiet contour along a façade.
The line of light that makes a space feel intuitive, calm, and complete.
✨ LED-Flow is precision that flows with the architecture.

📌 When architecture, function, and light work together, lighting becomes part of the design.
The modernisation of the Gersdorff Barracks is a clear example.
💡 On the façade:
LED wallwashers are integrated into the louvre structure, creating precise vertical accents that redefine the building’s presence after dark.
With RGB control via DMX512, the façade can shift from calm, monochromatic tones to dynamic colour scenarios.
An adjustable beam angle (10–30°) ensures accurate alignment with architectural details.
💡 Inside the building:
The lighting follows the same clarity.
– 84 metres of recessed luminaires
– 39 pendant luminaires
The LED Linargo system delivers uniform, glare-free light, designed to support focused work, learning, and training.
The result?
A cohesive lighting concept:
▪ Outside, the architecture is revealed
▪ Inside, the space supports its users
A project that shows how precise lighting can shape both experience and function.

📌 Preserving heritage. Integrating performance.
This was the key challenge in revitalising the former district and regional court in Düsseldorf.
A listed Wilhelminian-era building was transformed into a high-quality mixed-use development, without compromising its architectural identity.
💡 The approach:
Technology wasn’t added. It was integrated.
Drainage, lighting, and materials were carefully aligned to create a cohesive architectural language.
Key elements:
▪ Stainless steel slot drains for clean, efficient water management at the entrance
▪ Integrated light lines within entrance mats and recessed floor luminaires for subtle guidance
▪ A curved light line in the inner courtyard, combined with drainage channels, accentuating the oval basin
What defines this project is consistency.
Every element follows the same design logic, precisely tailored to the building and its context.
The result?
A solution where technology stays in the background, and architecture takes centre stage.

📌 125 metres high, now redefined by light.
The ARAG headquarters shapes Düsseldorf’s northern skyline. Designed by Norman Foster with RKW+, its elliptical form and double façade have made it a landmark since day one.
Now, the entrance experience has been elevated, through light.
💡 The approach:
As part of the forecourt renovation, façade drainage channels and linear grates were upgraded, creating the opportunity to integrate lighting directly into the architecture.
Over 38 metres, LED wallwashers by @ADO Lights are seamlessly built into the façade channels, directing light upward to define the entrance canopy.
The result:
A warm, corporate yellow glow that welcomes visitors while establishing a clear point of orientation.
Not lighting that competes.
Lighting that enhances, with precision.

📌 Invisible by day. An experience by night.
How do you introduce modern lighting into a historic city centre, without changing its character?
That was the challenge in Zwickau.
💡 The approach:
Not adding light, but integrating it.
Custom-made systems were precisely embedded into the existing infrastructure.
Stainless steel drainage channels with integrated LED Lightlines, combined with illuminated water features, create a solution that remains almost invisible by day, yet transforms the space after dark.
DMX-controlled. Built for urban traffic. Designed to last.
The technology stays in the background, while the experience takes centre stage.
Where modernity meets history, without compromise.

📌 A place you can’t miss in Düsseldorf: Kennedydamm.
On the route from the airport to the city centre, one project stands out, not for being loud, but for how it shapes the space around it: One Plaza.
From the start, this wasn’t a typical development.
No topping-out ceremony—just a tree planted in the courtyard. A clear statement of intent.
🌱 “Forest Home” is how +grün describes the concept:
lush outdoor spaces, a vibrant courtyard, and a rooftop designed for people to stay, not just pass through.
💡 The challenge:
Integrate lighting that supports the architecture, without dominating it.
Durable, weather-resistant, and built for long-term outdoor use.
The result?
Linear light integrated into seating elements, softly illuminating terraces after dark.
The courtyard becomes a meeting point. Calm, defined, and intuitive.
Not lighting that demands attention.
Lighting that makes space visible.

📌 Nantes | From Transit Space to Urban Place
France is known for its grands projets.
One of them is taking shape in Nantes, between the railway station and the Loire.
A place in transition:
from a purely functional transport hub to a public space with identity and purpose.
With the station’s redevelopment, the city now opens up to the south.
A generous forecourt connects the new district to the river, designed not just for movement, but for people to pause, meet, and stay.
🌱 The challenge:
To create a space that supports both flow and stillness, while balancing safety, orientation, and atmosphere.
💡 The solution lies in the details:
Curved and linear seating elements define the space along the planted areas.
Integrated beneath them, continuous LED Lightlines follow the geometry of the architecture, precisely aligned, partly curved, and seamlessly embedded.
After dark, the effect is calm and warm.
Not intrusive, but guiding.
Not decorative, but space-defining.
A lighting concept that makes the space legible
for travellers, residents, and visitors alike.

We’re pleased to see the Siemens Energy project in Duisburg published on Stylepark.
As part of the refurbishment of the former Demag headquarters, the lighting concept was carefully developed to enhance the existing architecture—preserving its character while introducing a contemporary layer of light.
💡 Product application at a glance:
▪ Linear light lines integrated into the canopy, extending over 25 metres
▪ Additional in-ground light line guiding the entrance
▪ Linargo pendant luminaires in circular configurations (Ø 1800 / 2400 mm)
▪ Multi-tier bespoke luminaires in the stair cores (Ø 1000–2400 mm)
▪ Powder-coated housings, colour-matched to the architecture
▪ Modular system with replaceable LEDs and light lines
The result is a precise, restrained lighting approach that supports the architecture rather than competing with it.
