It’s hard to compare, but this 15th anniversary may have been the best year yet. The team did a spectacular job from beginning to end, with no ‘scone’ left unturned. The chefs and their food and drinks were unparalleled, but it was the experience of making lasting memories with friends both old and new, that truly made this one of the best weeks for so many of us. Today marks 5, since you left our lives🤍
The journey of the past 5 years has been unpredictable to say the least. Despite the emotions this day will always bring, I’m happy to say that now I can focus on you as the man and not the loss. For anyone who has been on a journey of grief, it’s very difficult to separate the human being from the bubble of loss. Now, I think of all the questions I wish I had asked you, and how much I feel like I understand you far better today than I did when you were alive.
Perhaps it’s when going through our own difficult times that we are able to see our parents as the complex and fallible human beings they are. And it is the human who I wish I’d known, that I now miss the most.🤍
I also extend my love and support to @maozinon on the one year anniversary of losing your parents. This is a type of loss I could never imagine but the tireless work you have done to strive for peace and love over feelings of anger is such an inspiration.🤍
