TARINI
@_dia.adila_ by @adila_long
She moves not through places, but through heritage.
Every crossing lives within her.
The outer layer : a kimono soft jacket feel in muted mustard, almost burnished gold, rests lightly on the shoulders. Its surface is adorned with delicate gold stone detailing, catching light like antique jewellery passed down through generations.
Beneath it, a sleeveless cheongsam inspired inner in sage/olive tones contours the body with clean precision. The neckline is structured. The cut is deliberate. It sharpens the softness of the jacket, creating tension between fluid drape and architectural line.
The ankle length tapered skirt anchors the silhouette in a deep, dark brown base, rich and grounded. Gold detailing is scattered across it, not to sparkle loudly, but to glow quietly against the earth-toned base.
Tarini is not a story retold.
She is legacy, embodied.

NADA
@_dia.adila_ by @adila_long
is built on restraint.
A composed silhouette, shaped by structure and softened through translucent layers that introduce depth without excess. Each element is considered, placed with precision rather than decoration.
The design moves quietly, allowing texture, proportion, and craft to reveal themselves gradually.
There is no urgency here. No performance.
Rooted in tradition, yet released from literal reference.
Nothing is overstated.
Everything is intentional.
NADA is elegance, refined.

REN
@_dia.adila_ by @adila_long
Exists in the in-between.
Not traditional. Not contemporary.
But fluent in both.
REN doesn’t reference culture, it inhabits it.
Dark florals ground the form. Structured and composed.
Translucent layers soften the edges, carrying colour, memory, and movement across the body.
Built as a four-piece composition, each element holds its own weight, yet only fully speaks when worn together: layered, intentional, inseparable.
REN doesn’t look back.
It carries culture forward.

MORI
‘colourful forest’ - @_dia.adila_ by @adila_long
A place of depth, shade, and stillness.
MORI is constructed in layers.
An embroidered velvet outer, botanical and grounded.
Beneath it, a mauve lady sampin in thick organza: translucent, structured, deliberate.
Finished with a skirt in Muted Peony colour tone that anchors the entire composition.
A three-piece design created for movement, pause, and presence. What holds it together is the depth: how each layer reveals itself slowly, never all at once.
Timeless in form, edged with tension.
Feminine without sweetness.
Quiet, never passive.
MORI is restraint, worn richly.

AZU
@_dia.adila_ by @adila_long
Blue has become Adila’s current fixation.
Soft, understated, and considered; effortlessly so.
Azu pairs a delicately embellished Alice blue, tone-on-tone textured top with a muted mauve skirt, finished with a subtle blue lining that reveals itself only in movement.
Rooted in kebaya form, reimagined with a lighter hand..
where Malaya meets the East, and tradition feels current.
Azu is ease.
Culture, worn softly.

Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah & Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz 🩷
The royal wedding attire designed by Adila Long for the recent Istiadat Persandingan Diraja Selangor beautifully captures the essence of kemegahan diraja ‘royal grandeur’ in the most effortless way.
A seamless dialogue between Malay royal heritage and contemporary refinement. Both the bride and groom’s ensembles were rendered from authentic kain telepuk, a textile steeped in history and once reserved exclusively for the Selangor royal court. Adila’s vision is to breathe new life into the art of telepuk. To show that it’s not just a relic of the past, but a living symbol of Selangor’s royal artistry. Regal, refined, and resplendent in every sense.
