Managed to reproduce the fancy transition glitch from the previous attempt (so I guess it is not a glitch anymore) and started working on some narratives
I'm trying things differently. 1bit graphics, no more veloctiy based movement (jump is fixed now). I will also focus on maze and puzzle gameplay only, removing traps, coins and enemies. Also @MAUD_IFY (https://maud-ify.itch.io) been working on super moody generative music and helping me with sound design !
I've updated /ascii with 16 files from 2024. You'll find the ASCII art postcards made in July during my art residency in Bar-sur-Seine, as well as other pieces like this car made while experimenting with the creation of an ASCII art frogger. I'm working on a "pixel art web demo" commission. It will be an aquarium story. The pixel animation is made from a custom js engine I'm making (derived from the other custom stuff I do when I'm trying to make games). In case you didn't know I like doing custom stuff😅
Been working on climbing and sticky walls mechanics.
There is also slippy bouncing walls now.
Spikes have changed look and are slightly animated, as well as crossable platforms
