City Boy Movement: Seyi Tinubu didn't say God can’t stop his father from serving eight years
The City Boy Movement says Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, did not say God cannot stop his father from serving eight years as president.
Recently, a Facebook user identified as Albab Abdullahi published an article alleging that Seyi made a “blasphemous” comment to “put God under the bus” because of his father’s 2027 ambition.
“There is nothing that can stop my father from completing his eight years in power. Not even God is capable,” the Facebook user accused Seyi of saying.

_Special Assistant to the President on Duties_
Good day, Sir.
*Happy New Week, and keep leading.*
Working directly in the Presidency means you’re at the point where decisions become action. It’s not easy work — long hours, high pressure, zero room for excuses. But that’s exactly why it matters.
Sir, your role is a test of character, loyalty, and competence. Keep executing with integrity, stay close to the people, and don’t lose sight of why you started.
May Allah grant you wisdom, strength, and protection as you serve. The nation is watching, and your work counts.
*Happy New Week, Sir. Go make it count.*
CityBoy Movement.
11 May 2026 *PRESS STATEMENT*
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
*RE: FALSE AND MALICIOUS ATTRIBUTION OF BLASPHEMOUS STATEMENT TO BARR. SEYI TINUBU*
The attention of the CityBoy Movement has been drawn to a false, malicious and deliberately inflammatory write up circulating on social media, purportedly authored by one “Albaabu Abudulahi,” in which certain blasphemous statements are falsely attributed to our Patron, Barr. Seyi Tinubu, regarding Almighty God and the 2027 presidential election.
For the avoidance of doubt, Barr. Seyi Tinubu did not make the statement credited to him. He has never made such a statement at any time, in any place, through any channel, or under any circumstance whatsoever.
The attribution is entirely false. It is malicious in intent, reckless in circulation and dangerous in consequence.
Barr. Seyi Tinubu is a man of faith who holds deep reverence for Almighty God. He believes firmly that all power belongs to God alone, and that no man can attain, retain or exercise authority except by the grace, mercy and permission of the Almighty.
He has never insulted, mocked, questioned or diminished the supremacy of Almighty God or Allah, and will never do so. Any attempt to present him as a person without reverence for God is a deliberate falsehood designed to damage his name, distort his values and provoke needless religious tension in the country.
While Barr. Seyi Tinubu remains committed to mobilising support for the re election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in 2027, he also recognises that every political aspiration, every public effort and every human endeavour can only succeed by the will and guidance of Almighty God. No political conviction held by him has ever been placed above the sovereignty of God.
The CityBoy Movement therefore urges Nigerians, across all faiths and political persuasions, to disregard this malicious fabrication and treat it for what it is: a calculated attempt by mischief makers to inflame passions, mislead the public and create tension where none exists.
