Dadi Ki Shaadi (In Theatres Now! Go see!)
This is a glimpse of The Ahuja family, in a flashback sequence. I look at these behind the scenes photos by
@o_arra , and the vast difference between how much we shoot vs. how much makes it in the final cut of the film always blows my mind.
You may see only a few fleeting glimpses of this scene in the film when you watch it in the theatre. And yet, even for a few seconds of footage, the amount of work, detailing and commitment that the director
@ashishrmohan insisted on made me think he had lost his mind.
But it made me realise that as an actor (I can’t believe I get to say that lolol), even being in costume, improving dialogue with everyone, getting to put my charecter in different situations- it was an incredible learning.
I was so intimidated initially when I was told that we would be shooting for 32 days in Shimla, I’ve never really spent that much time doing the same thing with a bunch of strangers for 32 days in a row.
And yet, when I saw the film, I felt a camaraderie with the characters, their lives, their house, because I knew them- I lived and loved them.
And even if it sounds mad that a whole day went by to get a few seconds of footage, it was a day of continuous and incredible learning.
My brain will prolly spend the rest of my life processing the experience I had on this set.
In the meantime go watch Dadi Ki Shaadi- to watch a universe built of absolute love, persistence, learning and other assorted madness.
