Time to level up! It’s soon a whole year (on and off) pool training. 2 pool competitions. Learning about myself through pressure. Too many times being sick and feeling like I’m starting again and again. But all the times of showing up, even when tired: it added up. • I used to be terrified of water: through mental awareness and curiosity, my body started to trust myself under water. • I used to suck at multitasking: focusing on relaxing my whole body at once felt impossible. But focusing each session on different part connects them all, finally. • I used to feel like suffocating: I didn’t understand how people can handle contractions. It triggered my flight-or-figh inmediately. But through body awareness, I found my tension and how to release it. Through all this curiosity towards my mind and body, I have found my strenghts and weaknesses and now know where I need to focus on. @theawakeningself wrote me a training plan which I’m excited to continue with in and out of water and @gen.in.motion keeps my momentum going. @kalevspahotelandwaterpark is giving us all the water to train in with @tais.yermolenko and @2971_freediving all the gear to keep on gliding 👌 I’m excited to continue this journey and continue competing. We are literally born from water. That was every humans’ first home. And as every other mammal, we have a response to water that keeps us alive. After getting my autism and ADHD diagnosis in my very adult age, freediving has really changed something in my brain and body. It helps me regulate my emotions, my sensitivity to the world and choose the right people to surround me. I love being underwater, as an artist, it also gives me a different outlet to be creative. Spring is here and I’m up to all sorts of stamina training. Swimming, gym, cardio and CO2 training. After last competitions I was still training but being kind to myself. Now I feel my energy is getting back and so is my curiosity. Don’t let the fear paralize you. Feel the fear, anger, sadness. But find these emotions an outlet: dance, sing, stim, scream. The more scared and isolated we are, the easier is for them to turn your neighbours into the enemies. Choose community.
