Just so we’re crystal clear…. No academy records have actually been broken. The Lord of the Rings is ONE 12 hour long movie with 30 #Oscar Noms & 17 wins. #Sinners is great. But it’s no where near #lotr, the true #GOAT.
A few days ago a good friend of mine died. Her name was Natsu (Japanese for Summer, named after Bran’s Direwolf). She wasn’t “mine” but I’ve never had a closer relationship with another person’s dog. 10 years ago when her mom’s dad got sick she came to stay with us, sometimes for months at a time, while Steph went back to Colorado to care for her dad. Natsu quickly bonded with all of us. My daughters grew up with Natsu either living with us or coming over all the time for Mario kart tournaments, game of thrones nights and other events at our house in North Hollywood. When we moved to AZ, Natsu would sometimes make the 6 hour drive and stay with us while Steph was either working or on vacation. And when I would work in LA I would take care of Natsu in my off time. Natsu was no stranger to set and held down many a basecamp. With all the bad going on in LA and Hollywood this feels like more salt in the wounds. If you know Steph, please reach out to her. The lights of Hollywood are less bright and my trips to LA for work will never be the same. Miss you Lady. Fuck heart tumors.
