Both RNC grips and claw grips can be great tools to help flatten an opponent, keep your other hand free while applying great control, and have options to transition into multiple submissions. There are a lot of great tools to be taken from wrestling and adapted to submission grappling, and plenty of alternative grips aside from the seat belt
I made a recent video discussing the claw grip and the ruotolotine, and how they work well together. I'm cooking up some games to help work on these as well

Big congratulations to @farshad.nazarnia on taking gold 🥇 in the Advanced division at the @adccuk National Championships.
Currently a BJJ blue belt with a solid kickboxing background, he stepped out of his comfort zone to test himself against BJJ brown and black belts—an experience that will only elevate his MMA game.

Golden moment for Coach @f_calio 🥇🇬🇧
Technical precision, +2 decades of grappling experience and timing on full display at ADCC UK this weekend. Every scramble, every grip, every second, earned.
Proof that hard work does not just show up, it wins.

ADCC UK National Championships 🥈
Obviously would be happier if I brought home gold but still performed great in the advanced division with a 17 second submission win and a competitive final against a seasoned purple belt
Thank you to all my teammates and coaches, back to the drawing board.
