Posters for Pratt show. I was trying to diagram out my process and to pair it with a kind of step by step explanation of how I like to work. The more I experimented however, the same thing happened that often happens - I wanted to keep pushing the legibility, and eventually my attempt at making a legible diagram turned more into an exercise in energetic expression and iteration.

I wrote 29 essays for one of my thesis books. All of the essays are best described as being for me. Ideas or trains of thought that I believe in but need to remind myself of. This book is about ways of seeing that I find powerful, and in the book I am trying to understand how to translate these ways of seeing into ways of making and being. What does it look like to actually live in accordance to this way of understanding the world? Most of these essays started from little paragraphs in my Notes app or Voice Memos. Anyone who would like to read the full book let me know and I will send you a PDF. Much love ❤️

Thesis books
A book is a river and a book is an ocean. I won’t be able to say everything I would like to about these books so I will keep it simple. These were developed together to be in dialogue. I feel that often I am moving back and forth between 1) being direct and explicit to be understood and 2) working intuitively and finding comfort in not explaining myself - letting the work speak for itself. These books are embodiments of those two modes and serve as a larger metaphor for being two opposing things at the same time.

PHOTO PLATE COLLAGE
I started printing a design of this collage work I made. The printing process in general really suits my style because you’re able to segment the process and make different decisions to yield a wide number of iterations if you have the inclination. I enjoy translating across mediums - what once was paper is now ink and maybe I could flip these prints into something new as well - each medium can invite variation.

FOUND ITEMS BROKEN COLLAGES
I found these items at a local junk store and broke the to create pieces or “words” for a visual language. Then I collaged the pieces to create new compositions. I found the best collages came when things felt almost familiar or referential without being directly representative.

DESIGN PROMPT GAME
This is an icebreaker game I co designed with my classmate Sajjad. We wanted to make a something that encourage people to identify their values and practice design designing things in response to those value values.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT
Despite our best intentions, we are deeply influenced by the things around us, the things we examine, and the things we don’t examine. I have a lot of reference albums in my camera roll and across different sites on the internet that I use to try and directly reference or to have them seep into my head through osmosis. I think it’s interesting to bring that to this channel as part of the work, to mix subject and context into a food processor.
