POETS & PERFORMERS 🪷 1. JJ Fadaka is a writer, facilitator, and radical based in Edinburgh. Their writing explores the possibility of abolition, feminism, and love to create change. Their work speaks to the political urgencies we face while centring community-making in our resistance. 2. Christabel is a poet and writer whose work explores the themes of love, identity, spirituality, justice and liberation. Rooted in emotion, storytelling and lived experience, her writing touches on both the personal and the political, inviting audiences to connect and reflect. 3. Adaora (>body) is a Nigerian-Scottish artist whose sound is a genre blending exploration of emotion and experience. They can be recognised by their electronic trance approach and their soulful vocals. Adaora is known to play around with stripped instrumentals, layered vocals, panning and ambience. 4. ladé is a Nigerian-Scottish producer and DJ whose work fuses intuitive sampling, emotional depth and textural storytelling into emotionally expansive soundscapes. Rooted in abstract hip hop and sample based experimentation, their music is largely inspired by the human experience and expresses the universal feelings of joy, grief, and nostalgia in audible form, often tapping into a diasporic collective consciousness.
