NPPA BOP Awards - 2026 : First Place - Sports Story - Singapore World Aquatics Championships. 2:2 : The rest of the Singapore series can be found here… just found out some great news overnight that I was fortunate enough to win the NPPA Best of Photojournalism Awards Sports Story category with series of images exploring the underwater world and the amazing athletic ability on show at the Singapore 2025 World Aquatics Championships. From Leon Marchand breaking the 200m Individual Medley World Record to the Artistic swim team from Japan being so perfectly synchronised while performing underwater, witnessing the impact and depths the High Diving Athletes plunge to when hitting the water at over 80km/h from the 27m dive platform this portfolio of images hopefully provided a unique look at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships. Massive shout out to @YongTekLim who was our man on the ground in Singapore and helped out so so much with organisation and logistics etc (and he also took home 3rd place in the same category!) and to the schedule maestro and manager Maddie, Madison on tech support and the rest of the aquatics team Quinn, Sares and my bruv Zhanger for making it probably the best event I have ever covered! MILANO/CORTINA 2026 : Half Pipe Miracle! : Please scroll for the sequence of pain! >>> Somehow Nick Goepper of the USA walked away from this massive impact! He was back on his feet after a minute or so, and walked it off with a sprain and some pretty bad bruising! I still have no idea how? he returned to earth and hit the lip of the pipe almost as hard as that asteroid that wiped out the Dinosaurs. Congrats on going all out for the Gold!!! Maybe one of the most challenging nights shooting I have ever had, basically I couldn’t see anything it was snowing so hard! Maybe one of the most challenging nights shooting I have ever had, basically I couldn’t see anything it was snowing so hard so it was fortunate that I only ever use manual focus and never succumbed to the crutch that is auto focus.
