Oh pappa when I was only a few years old you’d get all dolled up and pose and say “paint me, Eric.” You could never remember my name, pappa! When you realized my “grubby little digits” could barely hold a brush, we figured out how to borrow the neighbor’s camera forever. It was always so fun to deliver the photos to “all the young moms” around the neighborhood. It was such a good idea and taught me “you can never have too many moms” like you used to shout. As you got older and your “money maker” pruned and body “raisin’d” you were so clever to add the cats. That sure brought a lot of moms in, pappa. Anyhow, happy father’s day and I’ll be by to take your picture later!
My sister in law @annmarienee is a saint. I’ll start there. She inspires me every day with countless acts of radical selflessness and generosity. For today, I’ll focus on her beautiful relationship with her big hearted neighbor Leah in Altadena. Leah has special needs and lived in a back house behind her mother in Altadena. Over the years Annie has built a beautiful relationship with Leah, never missing a FaceTime, a walk, an adventure with her sweet neighbor. Even after Annie moved over to my side of town, she continues to see Leah regularly. Today, Annie is driving Leah up to her brothers in northern California while her mom figures out a better temporary housing situation. This is because Leah and her mother, like so many others, lost their home in Altadena. I know there is bound to be gofundme fatigue at this point, but if you can, please consider giving to Leah and Lyn so they can start the recovery process from this devastating event.
I can’t thank you enough. I see all of your beautiful efforts out there. Let’s continue to support this community. This will be a marathon.
Love to everyone ❤️ (Link in Bio)
My beautiful friends, the Steels, lost their home and everything in it during the devastating fire in Altadena. There are scarce words available to capture the amount of love and laughter this family has given to everyone they come in contact with. If you know them, you love them. Zach is an associate professor of theater at USC and Nicole is an artisan that creates beautiful embroidered goods as well as teaching pilates. Today they awaken to a new reality—with no home, and no possessions. The process of rebuilding their lives is only just beginning, and I ask that you join me in helping.
Beyond the imminent struggle of dealing with insurance and figuring out how to rebuild, the Steels and their two kids, Noa and Sacha, need countless items, as they are starting over from scratch; losing all of their clothes, furniture, and even a car. They will also need help with housing as the process of finding a new living situation can take many months or even years.
I know there are many people in great need in this moment. And it is in moments like these that we surround our community and lift them up, carrying them through the painful turns of fate this life may offer. Thank you all for taking the time to read and consider helping this wonderful family.

Momma this mother day I remember your world famous “Sewer Sundays.” You said I can’t talk about this until “statues of limitation” pass. And momma, I think they have? cause the Rat King died? When things were tight you’d get us all excited for sewer sunday, cause “sewers is like the grocery store of down there” you’d say. The rats make dinner and we “get all the rewards!” “Eat the dinner, eat the rat” you’d sing. “Free water, free snack” you’d holler, while dousing up with sun screen. I didn’t get that part cause sewers are under the ground, and cause sunscreen was just Ranch salad dressing, but it was a good example to set for life in general. Everything was a life lesson with you. And a way to establish dominance over the rat king. Love you so much and happy moms day.
A thank you from Teddy to everyone who has given so far! This wonderful man has spent his whole life being selfless and giving, even when he had little to spare. If you can, follow the link in bio to watch his entire thanks video, learn more about his story, share, or give if you can!
Again, a huge thank you to everyone. ❤️
