Happy New Year from ITEA! 🥳✨ Here is a message from our president, Adam Frey:
Dear ITEA Members,
It is with great excitement and gratitude that I begin my two-year term as President of this wonderful organization that I joined almost 30 years ago! I remember how it changed my life for the better and hope to carry that forward.
Thank you to all who attended ITEC in Spain—what a fantastic event filled with inspiration, learning, and community. For those who couldn’t attend, we warmly encourage you to connect at one of our upcoming regional conferences next year. These gatherings are powerful opportunities to engage, grow, and celebrate our shared passion for the euphonium and tuba. Every time I connect with our community, I leave inspired, educated, and re-energized. I hope you too feel a strong sense of belonging and purpose—as a teacher, performer, learner, colleague, volunteer, donor, or perhaps all of the above regardless of your age, skill or experience level. Your involvement is what makes ITEA thrive!
As I look ahead to the next two years, I’d like to share a vision of engagement and expansion to guide our collective journey:
• Grow our global community and build partnerships with like-minded organizations worldwide
• Update our By-laws to reflect our evolving needs and values
• Refine our Conference Handbook to better support hosts and attendee engagement
• Revitalize our Commissions Committee to promote new works and support composers
• Strengthen our Endowment to secure a sustainable future and support projects
• Expand our Borrow An Instrument Program to increase access and education
• Create more worldwide events to connect and engage our members
• Modernize the TUBA/ITEA Journals from the previous century honoring our legacy while embracing the future
I invite you to visit our website to explore new updates, opportunities, and ways to immerse yourself in the world of euphonium and tuba.
As we continue building our euphonium and tuba community, my hope is you will choose to engage, share your voice, and contribute to the future of ITEA.
Sincerely,
Adam Frey
