Do I really love Honeymoon suite or is it because it’s the law in Canada?
When I’ve told friends from south of the border that we have laws that insure Canadian Radio and TV have to play a percentage of Canadian music, it sounds nuts.
“Hits” we’ve grown up on have never been heard outside of Canada.
From the CRTC:
“English-language and French-language stations must ensure that at least 35% of the Popular Music they broadcast each week is Canadian content.
Commercial radio stations also have to ensure that at least 35% of the Popular Music broadcast between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday is Canadian content.”
