I’ve always wanted to review a review. Since I recently got my first scathing review on Amazon (U.S) by someone who claims to be a writer, I thought now would be the perfect time. To quote myself:
1: Always try to trim down a joke, routine or story
2: Wherever possible, allow your balloons to pop on the final word of a punchline
3: End on a punchy word
I know a good book he should read.
I just did four book masterclasses, two in Utrecht and two in Munich. They were all a joy. A huge thank you to @rachelmortonyoung (Utrecht), @humormedev & @ryan_stands_up (Munich) for making these happen. @rachelmortonyoung set up the first ever international masterclass exactly two years ago. I must acknowledge that her and @salmonello both independently came up with the idea for a book masterclass. This is not a humble-brag, without them I wouldn’t have done a single masterclass and I’ve now done 66 — thank you both so much.
Here’s an extract from the audiobook version of ‘Finding Your Comic Genius’. @realmattlucas reads three chapters, including Chapter 8: Detail. I’m extremely pleased with how it’s turned out. Since this is a book about spoken word, it was clearly made for audio.
I’m equally proud of all of eight guest narrators who join me, but this little Muppet just got awarded an O.B.E.
