Today is my 25th anniversary as a DW endorser. It was a big deal for me, all those years ago, to become a part of the DW family, and it remains an honor to play their drums today. Throughout all the hours of rehearsals, studio sessions, countless shows, my drums have never let me down, never once been the weak link. Thank you @dwdrums for 25 years of support! @afireinside closed out their fall tour last night in San Diego’s @somasd . They always have and continue to put on one the best live shows in music. Their new album Silver Bleeds the Black Sun is like a completely overlapping of my musical Venn diagram 😂 @afiheadquarters

Music: “Behind The Clock” by AFI
A highlight of last year was working with @danforddrums to make this old-growth redwood snare drum. I’m a Northern CA guy, and I liked the idea of having a redwood drum the moment I discovered the beautiful instruments Dan makes. The wood was sourced from an old wine tank from a winery in Lodi and every time we cut or sanded it would smell of red wine. It’s a unique sounding snare - delicate and nuanced with warm, orchestral overtones - a nice addition to the stable. As an aspiring wood worker, I’m thankful for Dan’s patience while I peppered him with questions, as he took me through the process of drum building.
