Finished Mayrit Guernica and then headed to see the original because we didn’t have time while installing. This painting never disappoints.

⏰️ Featured Exhibition Closing Soon Visit 'Into the Wosk Collection: Discovery & Wonder' at the Audain Art Museum (@audainartmuseum ) for the exhibition's last week on view. 🗓️ On view until April 27 'Into the Wosk Collection: Discovery and Wonder' presents selections from the extensive collection of Yosef Wosk, a passionate collector whose interests span from books, manuscripts, photographs, prints, paintings, sculptures, furniture to a variety of cultural objects. Co-curated by artist Adad Hannah (@adadhannah ) and Audain Art Museum’s Gail & Stephen A. Jarislowsky Chief Curator, Kiriko Watanabe (@kiwa.bc ), the exhibition draws from Dr. Wosk’s wide-ranging collection of photographs and works on paper. With support from collection advisor and art historian Spencer W. Stuart, the curators reviewed a substantial number of works, with a particular focus on photographs and etchings. Highlights include portraits by internationally renowned photographers Naomi Savage, Diane Arbus, Walker Evans, Robert Frank, and Anne Brigman. Portraiture is a notable strength in the collection, as exemplified by Henri Cartier-Bresson’s photograph of Henri Matisse with doves, Diego Rivera’s photograph of Frida Kahlo and Emmy Lou Packard, Alexander Liberman’s image of Marcel Duchamp’s hands playing chess, and Man Ray’s close portrait of Ernest Hemingway. Still life images by Edward Weston and Walker Evans, Brassai’s Chartres in Winter, Berenice Abbott’s New York at Night, Ansel Adams’s Half Dome and Moon, and Fred Herzog’s black-and-white photographs further illustrate the breadth and depth of Dr. Wosk’s photographic holdings. Images: Installation view of 'Into the Wosk Collection: Discovery and Wonder' at the Audain Art Museum, Whistler.

This video of Toro was turned into a gif and the video was shared so many times on YouTube I lost count. It was fun to watch it live its own life on the interwebs over the years. The highlight was probably when @georgehtakei shared it many years ago.

𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗧 _Adad Hannah @adadhannah (New York, 1971) 📍based in Vancouver, Canada. Represented internationally and active across multiple countries, Adad Hannah has developed his ongoing Stills series, composed of silent videos situated at the intersection of performance, photography, and film. Drawing on the 19th-century tradition of tableaux vivants, his work explores spectatorship and the performative nature of observation, examining how the act of looking becomes a means of constructing meaning about ourselves and the world. Through videos, photographs, and installations, Hannah reflects on perception, presence, and the dynamics between subject and viewer, while his extensive exhibition history and inclusion in major collections underscore the global resonance of his practice. 📸: @labelleprovenance 3. James Lee Chiahan, «Hunters in the snow (After Bruegel)», 2025 5. John Latour, «Mother and father sitting under a tree with their son holding a bunch of flowers», 2024 6. Adad Hannah, «The Absinthe Drinker (after Degas)», 2025 ___ A glimpse at the works in the exhibition "Échos narratifs", on view until December 20. James Lee Chiahan: From "Home Alone" to "Kung Fu Hustle", James Lee Chiahan reappropriates scenes from some of his favorite films to create a series of intimate and enigmatic diptychs. John Latour: In these recent works, John Latour continues his exploration with found photographs from the early twentieth century. By applying flecks of white paint to these anonymous figures, their features become blurred and highlighted – existing both in the past and the present, in a state of presence and absence. Adad Hannah: For this new project, Adad Hannah turned his attention on Edgar Degas’ "L’Absinthe", reconstructing the scene in his studio. The result is a series of videos and photographs that chart a slow unravelling.
