Happy International Day of Families! 🌍👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Today, we celebrate the importance of families as the foundation of every strong society. The International Day of Families reminds us of the vital role families play in nurturing love, support, unity, values, and social development across communities and nations. This year's theme, “Families, Inequalities and Child Wellbeing,” highlights the need for stronger family-oriented policies that promote inclusion, protection, and opportunities for every child and family. Coincidentally the Federal Government of Nigeria has recognised the year 2026 as the *Year of Families*, calling for renewed commitment towards building stronger homes, safer communities, and a more family-centered society. At ADABA Initiatives, we proudly stand for and with families. We remain committed to promoting families as central to economic development and resilience, and our advocacy for wellbeing in the workplace and financial health and resilience for every home shows the threads of interconnectedness. Thus in commemoration of #IDF2026 we are excited to launch our Policy Brief on *Utilising Policy Towards Productive Employment & Decent Work for All Families; Lessons from the Private Sector*, which will be unveiled later this month as part of our contribution to facilitating supportive spaces for families to thrive. Watch this Space! Together, let us continue to strengthen the bonds that hold our communities together because when families thrive, society prospers. #InternationalDayOfFamilies #YearOfFamilies #FamilyFriendlyPolicy #StrongerFamiliesStrongerSocieties IDF2026

🌟 Happy Easter from ADABA Initiatives 🌟 Easter reminds us of the greatest acts of love and sacrifice giving everything so others can have new life and hope. In a world that often feels divided, this season calls us back to what truly matters: loving without limits, sacrificing for what is right, and lifting one another with genuine kindness. At ADABA Initiatives, we carry this spirit into everything we do choosing compassion over convenience, standing with those who need it most, and believing that real change begins when we put love into action. Wishing you, our dear Community and your loved ones a peaceful, joy-filled Easter.🙏✨ #peace #joy

👉🏾 From Mojekwu to Ozoro: Legal Protections Every Woman Should Know 🌟 Case law continues to support the Constitution in advancing women’s rights in Nigeria 🌟 Through decisions like *Mojekwu v. Mojekwu* and *Ukeje v. Ukeje*, the courts have made it clear: 👉 No custom can override the Constitution or deny women equality and dignity. These rulings go beyond inheritance and property rights, they reinforce a broader principle that harmful or discriminatory practices have no place under the law. This remains relevant today. The recent Ozoro community infractions against women's bodily autonomy and integrity in Delta State, and practices like Oro rites in Lagos among many cultural acts and festivals across Nigeria that disregard, halt and restrict women's rights, raise an important question: Can culture justify actions that undermine women’s rights? ⚖️ The courts have already answered—No. This is why our Know Your Rights* Campaign matters. When people understand their rights, they are empowered to speak up, seek justice, and challenge harmful norms. Real change begins with awareness and grows when we test and stand firmly on the protections the law already provides. Follow our #KnowYourRights campaign on Linkedin to learn more about our Constitutionally guaranteed rights as women and citizens.

On this International Women's Day, the message is simple but powerful: Give to Gain. When we give women support, we gain resilience. When we give women opportunities, we gain innovation. When we give women a voice, we gain stronger and more inclusive societies. Empowering women is not just about fairness it is about building a better future for everyone. Today and all month long at ADABA Initiatives we celebrate the strength, leadership, and contributions of women everywhere and we commit to doing more to ensure that every woman has the capacity, access and opportunity to thrive, because when women succeed, we all succeed. Happy International Women's day to all the incredible women shaping our present and building a more inclusive future. #InternationalWomensDay #GiveToGain #WomenInLeadership #Equity #Inclusion

Yesterday, Lagos took a decisive step toward building a structured care system. The Lagos State Care Policy Stakeholder Forum convened Commissioners, legislators, development institutions, private sector leaders, academia, and civil society to formally commence the drafting of a Lagos State Care Policy. As Nigeria’s commercial capital and one of Africa’s largest city economies, Lagos cannot afford fragmented and informal care systems. Childcare, disability support, elder care, and the care workforce are foundational to labor force participation, human capital development, and inclusive growth. The Forum focused on: • Establishing core Policy Pillars • Defining institutional leadership and inter-ministerial coordination • Professionalizing and regulating the care workforce • Aligning social protection with care realities • Designing governance, data, and financing architecture Next Steps: – Circulation of a draft policy framework – Establishment of thematic technical working groups – Development of an implementation roadmap – Design of a costed action plan This marks the beginning of a structured, consultative policy process aimed at positioning care as infrastructure within Lagos State. Care is no longer informal. Care is policy. #LagosCarePolicy #CareInfrastructure #CareEconomy #PublicPolicy #CaringAfrica

2026 is a good year! We're delighted to have hosted our first event for 2026; the Lagos edition of the inaugural #SocialImpactSupper on January 31st, in partnership with @we.are.envision and powered by @hellowrthy This intimate dinner brought together purpose champions, social impact architects, practitioners, funders, creatives, and strategists to foster meaningful connections and explore the impact agenda for 2026. Our conversations were candid and insightful, with our champions sharing what works and what needs to change for sustainable impact. Consensus themes surfaced around the need to rethink operating structures, funding, value, and recognition of sector players. We are deeply appreciative to all our champions who joined us, making the evening a success. The supper reinforced the value of intentional gatherings for deep learning, trust, relationship-building, and the importance of shifting from performative engagement to integrity, accountability, and long-term commitment. We look forward to more enriching gatherings like this. #2026 is a #goodyear #sustainableimpact #changemakers
