Dear Tami,
I could use all the English in the dictionary to write this for you and the words still wouldn’t be enough. So I want to start by saying thank you.
Thank you for being you.
Thank you for being the little sister I never had.
Thank you for being a light in this world despite what life threw your way.
Thank you for loving God as loudly as you do.
Thank you for loving me on my good days and on my bad days.
Thank you for the memories we created and will continue to make in your honor.
Thank you for letting me suffocate you with my presence, even though we all know you loved your space.
Thank you for being an influence to other nursing students, despite you never wanting to claim being an influencer.
Thank you for your laughter. The way that your laugh filled rooms and lifted moods, I promise we will carry that sound with us forever.
Thank you for leaving every space and every heart better than you found it.
That is your legacy.
You may be gone from sight, but your spirit is forever stitched into the fabric of our lives.
I swear to not only honor you, loudly and lovingly, but to also accomplish all the dreams we planned for our future. As you always love to say, we’re getting out of the hood one way or another.
