Reaccredited! The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication renewed its accreditation of JMC in a unanimous vote at its annual meeting in Washington D.C. Tuesday. The department first earned the designation in 2001, and its reaccreditation is a recognition of the quality of the program, its degree offerings and its outstanding students and alums!
Senior Sarah Trahan reflects on her time in the JMC Department, where she was involved in Morris and Mitchell and ACUTV.

Monday night was a meaningful milestone for our Documentary Storytelling class at Abilene Christian University.
After a full semester of work, students premiered their film in partnership with Abilene Hope Haven Inc., telling the powerful story of Janna Smith, a woman who, after years of homelessness and addiction, is working to rebuild her life with the support of the organization.
Following the screening, we hosted a thoughtful panel discussion focused on the realities facing the unhoused community in Abilene, as well as the resources and support systems working to create change.
The panel featured Courtney Horton, LMSW, and Michael Prado of Abilene Hope Haven, along with our student director, Lianne Campos, who spoke about both the challenges and rewards of bringing this story to life.
We are deeply grateful to Abilene Hope Haven and to Janna for trusting us with such an important and personal story.
And a big thank you to our community, faculty, and the Abilene Hope Haven Board of Directors for joining us and supporting this event.
