ACT UP Pittsburgh is grateful that there are members of county council focusing on real issues instead of bullying children...
Tonight the Allegheny County Council Public Safety Committee will vote on an ordinance that would protect incarcerated trans and intersex people from sexual abuse regardless of federal rollbacks.
THURSDAY, MAY 14 AT 4:00P.M.
ALLEGHENY COUNTY COURTHOUSE - SUITE 119, CONFERENCE ROOM 1 - 436 GRANT STREET, PITTSBURGH, PA 15219, USA

ACT UP Pittsburgh believes that abolition is inseparable from ending the AIDS crisis.
Incarceration concentrates and amplifies the conditions that drive HIV transmission including blocking access to healthcare, separating people from their communities, and exposing the most vulnerable to violence and abuse.
We cannot end AIDS without dismantling the systems that make people disposable. ACT UP Pittsburgh believes that protecting incarcerated people today and fighting to end incarceration altogether are not competing goals, they are the same struggle.
WE ARE ANGRY AND OUR ANGER IS MORE POWERFUL THAN YOUR SEAT ON THAT BENCH
LET THIS BE A WAKE UP CALL TO EVERY ELECTED OFFICIAL IN ALLEGHENY COUNTY AND ACROSS THE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA. ACT UP IS WATCHING, WE WILL NOT DIE QUIETLY, WE WILL NOT BE LEGISLATED OUT OF EXISTENCE, WE AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE.
DEATH BEFORE DETRANSITION!
PAT CATENA MUST BE REMOVED AS PRESIDENT OF COUNTY COUNCIL, NOT NEXT WEEK AFTER THE PRIMARY, NOT ON HIS TERMS, NOW!

SAVE THE WATCH BECAUSE THE SHITS GETTIN REAL HIGH HERE!
Tonight at the Allegheny County Council meeting members of ACT UP Pittsburgh demanded that council take immediate action to remove Pat Catena as president.
We will not sit idly by and allow our elected leaders to use our community as political fodder. Not now, not ever.
Council is set to vote on his removal at the next meeting in two weeks.

The AIDS crisis ISN’T OVER! Immigrants in ICE detention are denied access to HIV testing and treatment. This is medical neglect. Shut down Moshannon. Abolish ICE.
The president's FY 2027 budget proposes eliminating or deeply cutting nearly every major federal HIV program.
Congress MUST reject these cuts. Our lives are at risk and we will NOT die quietly.
